  2. will have a word with him for u chalky be in touch soon
  3. in touch with shaun gibbons would ask him if he would be interested in/or your interested in talking about the venues soul promotions did morecambe, newcastle, horwich, nottingham ,manchester, colwyn bay and blackburn sure there is a couple more you would have to ask?
  4. shame it explains alot then
  5. Cant really see him selling many more after this mess. He could end up with a shed load of records he cant do anything with its been a eye opener. will any promoters even want to employ him to dj any more its left a sour taste in a hell off a lot of peoples mouths in my opinion
  6. well ive read this a few times and he did have a hand in the making and giving him to his friends, thats his version but then goes out to openly name and shame other such people doing it on a larger scale . if you care and have integrity report them you must have enough proof to back up to get them stopped. diverting the blame onto others and making you look like the man just helping friends. and if we have taken your love of the music there is always dr who enough said
  7. have they given him a new account or is this his reply to the whole site
  8. records are a huge part of the scene and cutting your teeth learning the names and artist then labels and the difference between bootlegs/pressing.how many of us have been sat for hours taking about this record or have you heard this other 90%of us. part and parcel of the scene the amount of time in record bars at allnighters chatting about how originally discovered it or played it first. for me it part of the scene and its history that we pass on to others and long may it continue

always one of my favourite tunes R.I.P thought and prayers go out to his family
  19. im not against oldies and have been to many an oldies event. Whether it be syder turner "cant make it any more" to this "shes want" its not about the price it whether i like the record. never been a trophy hunter when it comes to buying records but its whether i like the record and if i think its worth it as for larry clinton good record but would pay the money they for it when i could get 15/20 good records i like just as much and enjoy just as much if not more
  20. i would gladly pay a bit more on the door if the dance floor is full and keeps them dancing. That's what you pay your hard earned cash for to enjoy your night.with this you go home think you think what a great night and possibly arranging your dairy for the next event. you talk to other friends on the scene and say belting night at???? this brings more punters and the repeat punters. what im trying to put across is doesn't have to be a top name dj but someone who is a punter as well as a dj and understands what the people want and play for them and know when to slow the tempo and then pick it up again. As an old mate of mine says allnighters/soul nights are a journey and its down to quality djs to provide the trip
  21. cheers dave its stories/incites into people like yourself who where at the forefront post wigan that kept it going forward and introducing quality records us punters and to me like to know the back ground info about these record think old age is turning me into an anorak lol
  22. sorry dave i stand corrected was going off a conversation i was involved in but what a awesome tune. thats what i love about this site find out the history of such records. had butch or tim played at any venues before you dave or was you the 1st dj to play it? was a great time for undiscovered tunes, what others records were your discoveries at stafford dave?
  23. shaun gibbons got a copy same time as dave thornley off the same source anderson i think, so cant be sure which allnighter was 1st would same not much but think the cds credit it to stafford . big at both venues .
  24. i wonder what its like up on the moral high ground they sit upon looking down on us mere mortals. lol got to love the quirkiness of the soul scene.
