  1. Chubby Checker - real name Earnest Evans. The name Chubby Checker was supposed to be a play on the name of Fats Domino. His Wife Catharina was a former Miss World from Holland. 1962 Go Chubby!!
  2. Roger K Yes, I know that this sort of stuff is frowned on these day's, but it did work way back then in a big stinky old venue with carpets made out of chewing gum! (P.S. - how the hell do you add youtube clips - didn't seem to work here)
  3. Timbaland (feat. One Republic) Appologize. ANy chance it could be this?
  4. Two great sides on 1 disc
  5. I assume that this is the same person. Sad news I'm afraid. Please see the attached. Appologies if I'm wrong and this is a mistake
  6. The description mentions a tiny edge chip. Perhaps that put some folk's off.
  7. Clip added - not sure how to add to this post! site note - you just need to hit the embedd clip on the clip page and follow the words 5 sec affair
  8. Finished at £822. Now that's a real result for someone!. Expect to see a few "Buy-It-Now" sales for £??? shortly

Not an expert on this but check this link from Popsike. The seller is very knowledgeable, well known record dealer and a member of SS. He currently promotes the Burnley alnighter. https://www.popsike.com/KIM-WESTON-HELPLESS-PROMO-MOTOWN-NORTHERN-SOUL-45/4863992374.html
  10. Got this VERY cheap from ebay last year. Nashville Matrix. Was never sure about what shade of green/yellow etc were proper 1st issues so felt safe buying the WDJ!
  11. Thanks for posting the Pat P article. "Do It" was and still is one of my all time favorite's from the WC days. A previous article I found interesting was this: - https://www.spectropo...drill/index.htm It gives a good insight into her experience's of the Music Business - bit sad! - and her encounter with Simon S and Shalimar. Ian D has mentioned the Shalimar connection. Again, an interesting version of events from her side. All the best Kev Bod
  12. Here you go.
  13. Posted yesterday Tony Rounce sold one for £35 on 11th September on here Hope that helps
  14. Finishes next week!! Currently @ £157:thumbsup: Neil Rushton had one for sale on here a month or so back @£300.
  15. Hi, Don't want to interfere but...I think the scans of this album are on JM's Rarest of the Rare section. https://www.raresoulm...of-the-rare/L/1 I seem to remember this item on the JM auction (4 or 5 years ago?). ALso remember another member on here (not Johnny F!) paying about £1k for the Black label Brunswick one pictured above. This was also on th JM auction about a year (?) after the Bell one. So if anyone is after the album, the price to me seems in line with previous auctions. No offence intended to any of the poster's on here. Just hope that a 3rd party, independent comment might help. All the best.
  16. Hi Chris, Here's a few to get you started. All the best. Kev Bodley.
  17. Carlton - Love & Pain Sorry, don't know how to do the "add youtube" thingy! Just one for now. While I was away from the NS thing, I always still enjoyed soul. I bought this when it came out - CD single and 12 inch. Played it non-stop and best appreciated VERY LOUD!! Hope you like. Kev Bod
  18. Rufus Lumley - Stronger than me? Oopps - posted at same time!
  19. Thanks for that Pete. Thought I'd check as the label looks a bit crude compared to the Issue.
  20. Hello All, I've had this Sandra Phillips Demo for a while. I've seen a couple of issues for sale with a completely different layout (crediting a "JUGGY" production and "Div.of Sue Records"). I'm sure I've also seen an un-lined white demo, similar layout to the issue. This was bought from a very reliable dealer. Any thoughts? Cheers Kev Bod.
  21. Glad you mentioned this! I was also watching this item. Fancied buying it if it was dirt cheap. Thought it was crazy when bids went to $32 when AT THE SAME TIME you could Buy-it-now for $30 from CM. No criticism of the seller from me either. $200 plus . People are free to spend their money how they like I suppose. Kev Bod.
  22. Very sad news. Condolences to Max's family. One of those times you can't believe what you're reading when you first see this thread. I, like many who grew up around Wednesfield and Wolverhampton spent many hours in the shop. Firstly in the 70's. Always remember seeing that green MG that Max had parked outside. I bought a few of Max's records from the first time around and usually kept the cardboard covers as his writing was so neat! Quite proud of this "Cover-Up" with his writing on the sleeve that he played at the Cat's. Manny Charles indeed. He had originally put a sticker over it!
  23. Here's my Brazillian that plays at 33 1/3 !!
  24. Bought this a couple of years ago.
