Friday 17th November is the fifth event at what appears to be becoming a very popular night. Feedback from those attending, and from those viewing the play lists we’ve begun to post, is really positive and we’re fortunate to be supported by a hard core of attendees with new faces trying us out every month.Staying true to the stated music policy of 'rare and underplayed' does seem to be striking a chord with those looking for something just that little bit different from the “same old, same old”.
The address is
The Ukrainian Club (Association of Ukrainians)
215 Stockport Road

You will almost certainly hear a few oldies, but these will generally be of the harder-to-obtain, ‘quality’ variety and all will be guaranteed OVO.We aim to blend these rarer oldies with what we believe are equally great, but less well known, 45s.The intention being that you (hopefully) have a great night and go home having heard a few tunes that are new to you or that you might not have heard played-out for a while.
Brian Lester and Chris Churm are planning their guest DJ roster at the time of writing and as soon as the DJs are confirmed I’ll update this post accordingly.I may not yet know who these guests are, but bearing in mind Brian and Chris’ contacts with the best of the North West’s rare soul collectors I’m pretty confident that you’ll hear some top tunes. As usual, Chris Churm and I will be fitting in around these guests.
The venue is just across the road from the Shell petrol station, it’s just the right size with a capacity of around 80 and has a really nice separate chill-out/lounge area. The car park is only small, but there's plenty of parking on the residential streets behind the venue.
Doors open at 7:30pm and entrance is a quite reasonable (we think) £3.00.
The event finishes at midnight.
Be there, be rare...or be square!
