Speedlimit 754 Posted December 10, 2019 A week Friday sees the final chapter in this great soul clubs book a night. A night I suspect will be emotional to all in attendance, a night of quality soul from a top dj line up. Two months ago I play my final set at this iconic venue that night was electric this one I'm sure will be a powder keg ready to explode. I'll see you there all friends new and old for one last night 50 years let's go out with a bang . Steve Link to comment

Rich B 460 Posted December 23, 2019 Taken me a couple of days to get around to posting, and I only wanted to say what a very good night this was. Nice records played, spoke to some lovely people, as you might say; "I had a good time" - thanks to all concerned, a most enjoyable night. Look forward to seeing you when you move, Link to comment
Speedlimit 754 Posted December 25, 2019 Well. What can I say emotional yes musically top class something from every era of the legendary Notts soul club. The place I learnt my trade as a dj it was packed to the rafters, atmosphere was magical just like the first night I attended with mick h 45 years ago it was a truly fantastic way to end on lots of people I've not seen in a long time, plus new faces to remember danced so much my feet hurt djs on the night did the place proud. Thanks guys for the memories Look forward to your new venture next door. Regards Steve Phillis Link to comment
Mick Boyle 407 Posted December 27, 2019 First id like to thank all the djs that helped us put on the last 6 Brit nights. John Poole - Rob Thomas - Richard Broughton - Glyn Sisson - Steve Frost - Rob Smith - Mick H - Simon Hunt - Mick Taylor - Nev Shooter - Steve Phillis - Rick Bramhall - Jason & Karen - Kev Such - Alex Gallagher & Myself. Also a big thanks to my wife Maxine, Nick & Lisa who made these nights possible - So much background work that goes unnoticed. Without these three the final 6 Brits wouldn't of happened. We hope we did the old club proud and all that attended enjoyed it as much as us. It was moving to see so many old Brit faces at the final event. The feedback was amazing and has lead us to move next door to the Boat Club. Mick H will be joining our regular (when available) lineup + a top DJ per month - kicking of with Ted Massey on January 17th. A big thank you to all that attended and made these nights so memorable. Regards Mick, Max, Nick, Lisa & Alex (Pure Vinyl Events) Link to comment
Poullet 5 Posted December 27, 2019 The best six months of soul. Thank you Mick Boyle for creating such a line up of past Brit DJs for us all to enjoy and remember they were amazing, each bringing their unique sounds and memories. I will miss the Brit but the Boat is a new chapter and judging by the DJs Mick Boyle & Mick H are considering it’s going to be a small but mighty club. Memories have been made for life. Looking forward to 2020 Link to comment
