March 15, 201114 yr ..Not Torch as far as I can remember This was........................ b j thomas - these chains of love - soul-tbc
March 15, 201114 yr I would say Yate(but could be wrong) Steve Think Your On The Money With Yate!! Atb John
March 15, 201114 yr I would say Yate(but could be wrong) Steve Definitely Yate, then Wigan for a couple of weeks.
March 15, 201114 yr Definitely Yate, then Wigan for a couple of weeks. Yup, Clarkie's David Huff cover-up, think he had the Pacemaker local issue, and then Gilly sold me a Scepter copy
March 15, 201114 yr The pacemaker is not the same cut is it ? Same basic recording, Ken - think the mix is (very) slightly different, though. Or possibly it just sounds different in the Scepter remastering.
March 15, 201114 yr Wigan, Mecca or Torch ? Or all three ? UK release ? Definately not played at The Torch . If I had to say a venue , I would go with it being WC . Malc
March 15, 201114 yr I REMEMBER WHEN........ this record was absolutely massive. At St. Ives All-Dayers when this was played by the likes of Hammy, Nev Wherry etc, it was like an almighty stampede!!! The intro was awesome to hear and watch. I have a recording of Nev introducing it in one of his sets and the place literally erupting! Happy Days!
March 15, 201114 yr Yep Yate as Clarkies David Huff coverup. The pacemaker version is slightly lower gain and production but is the same. Out of interest i bought a Pacemaker Demo Donkeys years ago (1986) and have never seen another (not been looking to hard) anyone got one or is it an oddity? Its not a white label but is printed in the info
March 15, 201114 yr On the Scepter L.P 'Tomorrow Never Comes', 'I Don't Have A Mind Of My Own' is definitely a different cut than the 45 with added girls and horns, they chant "Dreaming, dreaming" between the lyrics too. Edited March 15, 201114 yr by Soul-Slider
March 16, 201114 yr refo-clip Sorry mate, I don't know how to convert, someone might come up with it though.....
March 17, 201114 yr First plays at the Yate niter, via Ian Clark. The guy who discovered it was Bob Morris, from Stoke; he was on the coach going to Yate, with the said record and intended flogging it to Ian. Unforgettable intro !!!!
Wigan, Mecca or Torch ? Or all three ?
UK release ?
