Guest sharmo 1 Posted July 2, 2011 Share Posted July 2, 2011 Hi there I've just had the last of the stock of the Boddie acetate box set's arrive (after three month's wait !! ) The set comprise's of three 7 inch 45's ( six sides ) of unissued acetates found whilst clearing out the Boddie studio they all appear to be unknown studio artists as the acetates were titled but no information on who recorded them exists.They come in a scotch type box and are sealed in the box you get a photo of Mr.Boddie hard at work at his original pressing machine with informative note's on the back.the Boddie company recorded and pressed many souland gospel records for over twenty years and ran lables like soul kitchen and Luau ect all the Cleavland type lables used him for acetate cutting and record manufactoring The trio of 45's have alternative cut's to Jackie Ross's "Selfish one " and " Ido love you"done by just about every one ,there are three outstanding northern/ Crossover type dancers and one nice slowie.These records are top notch quality and are totally legal and licenced they were ltd to a thousand world wide and most sold into America these will soon dry up and the ten that I had originally flew out the door like flying saucers the box set is £20.00 plus £2.00 P&P,we take Paypal and cheques ect ,any of you that had the syl Johnson box set's will know the quality of these gems.Watch out for next month'sbox set this one look'slike dynamite and features a really amazing windy city out fit have a good weekend Simon.
