Without knowing the hypotheses being examined the survey seems rather naive. Regardless, good luck with your study. It would be nice to be able to read the paper that comes out of your research once it's completed.

I did the survey yesterday, thought some of the parameters were a bit too broad to have too much relevance to the soul scene, but enjoyed filling it in anyway

I had a look but couldn't answer question 9 so gave up

My answer would be between the ages 14-40+. I am such a saddo! lol

I answered yes to do you 'dress like a fan' and then realised he did not mean the rather fetching japanese style get up I've been sporting occasionally lately....

I'm not sure you'd get a representative sample of "soul fans" on this message board, even if you're just talking about the UK. Aren't there many people who are fans of mainstream soul music (al green, marvin gaye, aretha franklin) that have no connection with (and possibly no knowledge of) "northern soul". I would imagine the people here are much more committed which would skew the types of questions your survey asks.

Would be fun to see what conclusion you come up with. Can imagine that I'm who 19 year old will not have given much diffrent answers from somone who is 49 year old. That is the beauty about the scene.
