Trawling through a few boxes of records. Stopping every so often like you do as a certain label came into view.
You know....The kind of thing that makes you pull the record out of the box and compeles you to feast your eyes over the label design, credits and stuff.
The kind of thing that gives us sad vinyl addict's that little ' twinge ' or ' moistness ' depending on your genitalia.
Then that's when it dawned on me.....
"Gosh!" (in a Comic Strip Presents... "Five Get On The Gear" type way).
"The majority of my collection tends to be male orientated soul ! ".
Now, as it goes, I like all sorts of soulful stuff. And am very partial to the female crossover 45's by the likes of Betty Moorer, Ann Sexton, Serena Johnson, Margie Joseph etc. etc.
But it appears my collection on balance is distinctly lacking in this style so if any of you good people have any suggestions for some quality stuff, rare or not so rare, for me to be looking out for and even-ing up the balance in me record boxes i'd appreciate your wisdom and guidance.
