i havent been anywhere on the soul scene for a while i have a lot of records for sale that i cant be bothered to list...so i watch the wants section with interest and it gets my goat that if you reply to a want for instance... yes i have said record explain condition etc they read the PM and cant be arsed to even acknowledge...manners cost nothing...a simple NO will suffice...ps not sure if this in in the right section...but it makes me spit and a lady never spits...

  •   You can't leave someone negative feedback for not answering a PM.  That's ridiculous. You leave feedback based on a transaction that's taken place.

Why not ? If someone asks for a 45 and says PM me and you do ? Time wasters. Why not let other members know ? I did add that to Wants guidelines last time this regular topic came up. Trouble is th

Definitely think the "relax" advice from Rod is spot on    I also think some issues could be worthy of being able to leave feedback on - even if no transaction has taken place.   &#

Id say if they don't reply either leave a comment on ad or leave negative feedback after of course allowing time for reply. 7 days ?

Bottom line though is to relax.

I'm afraid some people just don't think beyond themselves.

Put up a list.Relying on Wants makes it limited.I'm sure some of your records will find a new home via Sales.

Trouble is those who can't be bothered to reply can't be bothered to read the guidelines either.

Because you leave feedback for a transaction, not for someone's manners

Edited my reply but you'd posted.

I take your point and I must admit I don't do it myself.

Shall we see what other irate sellers have to say and we'll go from there.

Last time consensus did seem to favour hang and flog 'em brigade which is why I included it.

i think sometimes people post in wants because they will never own said record...maybe it makes them look/feel good pertaining to buy such a record?...but the sad fact is all the wants i have replied to lately have been for relative cheapies...adding the reply to the post has a far better impact than a PM as people other than the topic starter may see it and ive had more offers this way than from the original postee

I also think some issues could be worthy of being able to leave feedback on - even if no transaction has taken place.

One example would be holding a record for someone with a promise to pay - so the deal is effectively done and the record is held in good faith - but then they fail to honour the arrangement and don't take the record.

That is pretty poor and I think should be considered for negative feedback. Not happened to me more than once or twice, but it is annoying and can result in other possible buyers being lost.

Just a thought

That is the most annoying thing about selling records.

It happens to me every single week.

It's happened today in fact.

But again, the deal never took place so I don't see how feedback can be placed.

You just have to deal with it your own way.

asking someone to hold a record to me is a good as a handshake...you are in fact holding a record for a person that has no intention of buying it...scoose me but its time wasting of the highest calibre!

I suppose it's like going into a shop, picking something up, humming and haring about buying it then putting it back.

Agree, a nice simple 'no thanks' would suffice.

It is - so the next time they ask, I just say it's already sold...and the next time etc

I agree totally..if you want a record buy it if you don't let someone else....only a quick thought, if someone wants a record held, should they pay a deposit? Obviously deducted off agreed price when paid in full. Would stop the dreamers from messing people about......Rob

Every time this happens to me, I rant and rave, and then the person gets back with a totally plausible reason for not following up quickly, kind of makes me feel really foolish... what can you do...

had some chap from Germany I think inquire about a record several times, that I hadn't sold, in the end I just told him I thought he was really weird and that he should seek help... but not with me... that did the trick and the record still hasn't sold... :elvis:
