Are there a lot of OV of Lou Pride knocking about and are they a reasonable price?

I am pretty sure I can't afford a decent OV copy of Lou Pride even if I could find someone willing to part with their copy.

Loads of blue Seumi bootlegs are being sold for £20+ so what is the difference with the OSV issue?

When OV is rare or expensive some people reissue tunes; though I don't know if this set of 10 are legit.

I do know the artists who appeared at Skegness were signing their OSV records and covers; Lou pride can only perform in a better place so I suppose it left to a promoter to undertake the task of signing the records. 

The NS film soundtrack recently released includes a legit copy on a UK issue so there is an alternative to bootlegs. :)

Jazzman did a legit lookalike before the OSV issue even, so these & the film soundtrack issue give you at least 3 choices of legit reissues.  spoilt for choice?

It would for any serious collector. If it was a signed photo of Russ Winstanley I can see that having some value as a piece of NS memorabilia to some people, but signing a record ?

But joking apart....its the inevitable commercial reaction to a potential rebirth of the scene by a blast from our NS past...... as said already its no different to the reissues sitting alongside the Movie by HR

 

Remember OVO isn't everything, the music is what matters and I think you will find in time that if our scene regenerates itself, the new "young" bred unless they are really wealthly they wouldn't on the whole be interested in pieces of vinyl and it will become even a more niche that it is now - the majority of top sounds are available via iTunes and/or Youtube now so what was a necessity in the olden days, isnt such a priority now... but time will tell

Supply and demand, not an entirely alien concept to most businessmen. Soulvation have identified a niche and are exploiting it. Wouldn't be the first time.

Could not agree more,from a "Jack...sorry read The Wigan Joker to the King of exploitation milk it for what you can get .

He always seemed a nice enough guy to be honest . not in tune with the p.c . northern crowd at all , but i always feel when i hear a Winstanley  laugh in going on that maybe it is rooted in the fact that no matter who you think you are or what you feel your part in the scene is , you will never  ,ever  have a place  like the one he got going . give the man a break.

I think Tim is still involved with these records. They all have the star on the label.

Fair point mate - it'd be good to hear from more like you for a bit of balance. I'd like to read a 'respect Russ' thread, could throw up some interesting stufff from, 'the other side'.
