That rape scene was ridiculous; actually this makes Soul Boy seem well researched

I can't watch it but was it the one done 81ish, end of Wigan. Sparse crowd sitting on a look a like stage and lots of funny pills leading to lady od? If so it was first on a Sunday night was it not, as I bribed my folks to go out, which they did every Sunday, and as it was a usual after Wigan Sunday thought it was safe, However I had went on so much about them to go out, they stayed in, I think they thought I was going to be in it or something!

They looked at my eyes funny for a long time after that.

It was pretty dreadful, sure Dave Evison was asked to consult and they ignored everything he said.

Or am I living in a parallel universe?

Don't thinkn thats the same Kathy Burke, the TV KB is an ex London Mod and was around on the scene in the late 70s early 80s and Im sure she ran the Small Hours fan club (Memory failing?) Had a few drinks with her waaaaaay back in the Mildmay Pub before she went on to superstardom with Harry Enfield and remember her being just one of us, lovely girl.

Will do as soon as I find which one of my cuttings book its in! Just been too look and not in the one I swear it should be in! However there are the letters re the This England Doc so will scan those too.

There's a review I did of this somewhere.  The bit I enjoyed the most was the girls line dancing.  I used to put this on the old VHS compilations back in the 90's.

Lets Make Love Ronnie Love,

That makes it a Grapevine soundtrack, (apart from tainted love that was a new/remixed version?)

I remember watching this with my Mum as i was still st home then, cringing all the through. Througher questioning followed.

I am sorry for uploading this to my youtube channel and i should have taken into consideration the amount of northern soul pensioners and their copycat knicker flashing antics. On another note I used to have a film called The Breaking Of Bumbo.I lost it for 15 years.Last night i went to an old mates and found the copy in his collection.Brief synopsis.Coldstream guard meets a svelte Joanna Lumley, she is a political activist,he falls for her,she recruits West Ham skins in crombies to attack the barracks,Dim from a Clockwork Orange gets injured, they go to a club where The Graham Bobd Organisation play Spribgtime In The City.I just need a new video to dvd recorder or dvd recorder.

I need to see that!

1983 it says.... I would have loved to be a fly on the wall in your house that night :D

click the link..

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3528814/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

It says 1982 on her web page, and adapted from theatre play she did earlier. That makes it more Rotherham time, which would say it was shown on a Saturday, unless I had went to a Saturday all-nighter? Confused, you will be after too many all-nighters  :D

It also makes sense in one of the characters in the hairdresser show she wrote being conceived in the Wigan Casino car park. Obviously one of the vast majority who went straight if he could manage that half way through the night, allegedly.  :P

I will drop Dave Evison a note on FB, as sure he was originally involved.

It was bad.

Jock I saw this when it was first broadcast and I know I missed the end because I had to go and get the last bus from my girlfriends house, so this means that it was definitely not on on a saturday (when I'd have stopped over), it was either a sunday or early weeknight.

Watched the first minute when Steve posted it on Facebook and that was 40 seconds too much

I watched this but it's different to how I remembered it. In fact I was almost tempted to think there might have been two versions. I remember it as even more low budget, as if filmed in tv studio and with a few better dancers. Probably just the mind playing tricks because the one I saw I'm pretty sure was on a Friday and I've just checked the ibdm link and the date shown was indeed a Friday. I also remember it ending with "There Can Be A Batter Way".

adapted from theatre play she did earlier.

Don't know if it was put on at more than one theatre but this is an ad for one.

Date is Saturday 24th October 1981

Remember watching it at the time. Clocking Off also had a Northern story line where one of the lead characters was hacked off because her boyfriend was away at nighters every weekend.

It did, there's a clip of people dancing to The Champion, some 'proper' dancers from m/c were recruited for it
