HI BROTHERS & SISTERS, May I wish all of you the very best for 2016, & I for one am so glad to see the back of 2915, after at times feeling so ill & in constant pain,  as you may be aware I have completely neglected the thread for most of the year, more of that later, but first can I thank those of you who have kept the club running through out 2015, .

Do I need to explained the rules are so simple, 10 you must own the record on vinyl to make a posting, 20 hopefully your choice will be a 45 seldom played or new to the forum, 30 any comments made should be about the record nothing else, 4) this thread is not for selling records or for promotion of events please/

The first record of 2016 is from C L Blasthttps://youtu.be/qstR_oUoT-k  A great bit of soul my copy cost £10 but have seen it sell for £100+ HOPE YOU LIKE this 5 STAR rated 45 KTF in 2016....DAVE K

with the Ojays  and Escorts release really nice versions of which I collected before securing one of these was a hard want of mine in good nick and well worth another punt  IMHO

A weird one for sure.

One of those forgotten oldies.

Wouldn't be out of place in 2016 techno sets, I'm sure.

You like it deep mate.

Good one!

Soul on a cold,wet, sunday.

This is a Philip Mitchel song produced by Gene "Bowlegs" Miller and is sheer class.

In my view on a par with Charlene & the Soul Serenaders' Love Changes :

The Sequins "it must be love" Crajon (comes on two different designs)

Mick i like all genre's of soul music

The flip to this one is uptempo funky & very good for the floor IMHO not on the tube yet :g:

Like so many ....new to me ........but now firmly planted in my record box !!

Haven't checked in on the thread in a little while so had some good listening today!

Interesting alternative to The Anderson Brothers, not heard that one before!

Great stuff thanks for the sounds!

Here's another tune covered on the same label as Mick's post.Is it just coincidence that the label covered a couple of the scenes big tunes or was it done on purpose??

Raymond Smith-Seven Day Lover IX Chain

Some great choices guys.Love the Sequins, and the new to me Jay T. Great thread.Donna.

Not posted in a while, running out of interesting records, gonna have to buy some again soon!

Meantime more £1 soul-pack fodder from me, listening to this quite a bit lately, never heard it played, dunno if it's well known or not but I'm diggin' it at the mo! To me real good northern but, I do have funny tastes sometimes!

Great version.

Like "I can see him" both would have stood up on their own, if it wasn't for the classics, sadly

they both seem to lack the spark to take them to the other level, to become known as a Northern Soul classic.

Hi All Hope you are all well, I hope this one is OK with you lot as this is Northern SOUL from the early days, I'm aware many people don't like the term Northern SOUL, but back in the day for me any where North Of Bedford was the North.  This classic is also quite rare these days and well worth looking out for as it has 2 cracking sides  THE MINUTE MY BACK WAS TURNED B/W  HEY HEY MY BABY'S GONE - ROGER PACE -SELECT RECORDS 45-K 744 - VALUE £100+

Joey Heatherton ‎– When You Call Me Baby

As this was a real big tune at Wigan, it would have been a lucky man to find one for a quid.

The nice pic cover depicted would set you back £80-£100 today and the re-issue about a tenner.

Great production, sad vocal, unfortunately.

I don't buy any big ticket records, don't know anything about labels, values nothin'.
