I have just heard that Hamilton has passed away, yet another sad loss

 

 

Reported on Soul Tracks the sad news that Hamilton Bohannon has passed on today the 25th april 2020 age 78 years old

Sad news. Listening back to this album earlier tonight, I can't believe how jazzy it was, and how discordant the piano was on so many tracks. And, having said that, how influential it was on my enjoyment of music, as I loved the whole album, especially side 2!

I especially liked 'Happy Feeling' after picking up a demo.

 

Sad news about Bohannon. Very underrated these days considering how prolific he was and how unique his style.

Just remembered this one too. All sorts going on here in terms of where his sound came from and who it would go on to influence...
