Hi, I've recently got back my old soul collection from my deceased ex husband. Encouraged me to buy a turntable...oh my! what fun we've had reminiscing. I've got a copy of The Exciters - Blowing Up My Mind. 

I'm assuming its the first release? RCA 47-9723 It's been professionally cleaned and graded VG , it plays better than it looks as It's got some marks obviously. Middle pushed out too. It's the same copy as in the you tube video. 

Wondering realistically how much it's worth if anyone has time to help me?

US releases were yellow (promo) and orange (issue) (large hole).

Aussie releases were both black small spindle hole.

1972 reissue sells for £60 on average on discogs in VG+ as your copy looks to be.

I might be missing something obvious here, but what makes this the 70s 2nd issue?

To be honest I've looked at lots of posts and sales ...discogs, ebay etc. I assumed this was first issue as the number is different to most versions for sale. There are more than one orange  RCA versions on discogs, I'm sure it matches all the details of the earlier version.

Cos unless I’m missing something this is the original issue copy whilst the orange 48-1035 is the 70 reissue.

Its a first issue and its averaging about £130 in discogs sales, last one 160.

I stand corrected but its a different pressing to the discogs entry as its clearly a different label with GMP below Victor not above but as pointed out reissue has a different cat number.

There's an article from 2018 in the forum... that's the same copy as mine. It says the reissues have "mono" on them. Well, its giving our brains a workout eh?

The 47 - 9723 (69) release came out with GWP both above and below, possibly from different pressing plants?

whilst the reissue does state mono the only thing you really need to know is the catalogue number, 9723 is first, 1035 is later.

Can you add a photo of the other side Carol or tell us what it is please ? Do you think or know if the recording on your copy is stereo or mono ?

Yes if yours is the orange 9723 its the first release, and most dealers would list that at around 250 quid,privately maybe 180 quid,and all dependant on no less that ex/vg+condition!
