Awful news again today, the passing of a proper icon of the scene and as noted a pioneer of the music we associate with.

He will be greatly missed

Very sad news. Knew Dave from the Mecca/Torch days and recently saw him at the Torch Anniversary do where we had a good few laughs and reminisces.

Yes every death sad, this one particularly, I knew Dave since our Hampstead Birds Next, Record corner, Golden Torch & Mecca days. Super to hook up with him again in 1998 after 25 years. We travelled to the US together, loadsa niters together and even DJ-ed together. Always a cackle, Christiane's and my condolences to Steph. R.I.P. and thumbs up big man.

Very sad news, a true gentleman R.I.P, Dave

I didn't know Dave Rivers, as such, although I met him once or twice, years ago at the Castle in Tooting.  I do recall buying a copy of Darrow Fletcher's My Young Misery from him, one night.

Rest in Peace Dave.

Top man I bent his ear many times at bids and saw him at the last class of 72. A real character with amazing insight and knowledge, a sad loss. 

Steph has asked me to post Dave's funeral arrangements.
