Does this Adam Wade ever get played out?

I quite like it, but I know my audience wouldn't be into it... maybe they just have better taste than I? whistling.gif

The original is very rare, might even be a one off. It's label is blue. Poke first played it covered up as Tony Raymonds, then sold it Robin Salter who uncovered it. Robin lent it to the label owner to press up the yellow copies as he didn't have the original tapes.

The yellow ones, I think should be considered as legit re-issues.

Ahah! Remember it from a Robin tape from years back. Well, If the blue one is a one off, as is quite possible, then the yellow ones, from the label owner, will be legit, and the only way to own one! JM doesn't list it at anything other than £15 in his guide, and has one on set sale at that price. Doesn't say re-issue tho'. Maybe he doesn't know about the blue one, I certainly didn't, thanks for the info! thumbsup.gif

=======

both of these were ian levine tips on his comeback from a few years ago...

Spot on! That's where I heard 'em. One of the Ian Levine radio specials from about 2001 I think. People can say what they like about the man, but he does still have pretty good taste in music (IMHO of course), and he plays tracks which no-one else would (for one reason or another). I like that though, because it gives exposure to stuff you wouldn't otherwise hear - and there's usually one or two tracks in his sets that are real 'gems'. What is the situation with Ian on the Northern scene these days? Has he done any recent Northern Soul radio? I've been 'away' for a few years and I'm trying to catch up on things ... did that '4 Vandals' stuff do irrepairable damage? More questions than answers I suppose!!!

p.s. Another track I recall Ian playing that was excellent but I never did manage to track down a copy of on mp3 was "In A Good Groove" by The Joneses. (hint, hint - anyone? :rolleyes: )

No comments re. any of my Ian Levine queries I see - perhaps that says it all?

OK, one last shout for Hugh Boynton "You Went Back On What You Said". Anyone got it on mp3? As always it would be much appreciated. Ta. :thumbsup:

Thanks Steve. It was really just an mp3 of "You Went Back" that I was after. If you have one, would it be possible to post it here rather than PM me? That way, others will be able to share in its brilliance too.

Cheers and much appreciated. thumbsup.gif

Ehh WTF - its quite clearly stated on here, and I can verify that statement from personal evidence, that Robin S played Hugh Boynton WGMI to death in 80's and Gary R played YWBOWYS for many years (well a few) and it and the other version were well known and well played throughout the 80's, so how exactly are they tracks no-one else would, they were so well known by the 2001 they were almost oldies!! And before Mr White attempts to smack me for saying something naughty this is not a dig at Mr Levine, just a correction of one the many tiresomely inaccurate "facts" flung around here, starting to think truth is as rare as Hens Teeth on here sometimes!!

See above!

Prefer the Willie Mallory version...... :thumbsup:

Havent heard this for years, I always thought they were almost the same, anyone put up a sound clip of this version?

Okay off to be sedated,

Jock
