I was reminded last week that Butch had a box of them at Sheridans (late 90s or early 2000s) at £50 apiece, so maybe we will see some more emerging for sale!

I didn't know it, so didn't buy one😭

I would never gauge it as £10k rare.

Shifty even lent Sooty a copy to play when he was "resurrecting the scene" in the 90's FFS ... lol rolleyes

(And he probably never got it back as happened with a friend's copy of Jimmy Fraser)

£10800 the world's gone mad average at best imho

Yeah I get that. we all like different things. For me though it's the epitome of our genre and a seminal track with a brilliant intro and great harmonies'. It just begs to be danced to. I don't remember hearing it until the 90's when Butch played it as a guest at a local soul night. Value wise I would be the last person to ask. It's a record I could only dream of owning.

Butch never had a copy in his sales box in the early 90’s. By the early noughties, the record was selling for 3K. Tim’s copy was the first I’ve seen for sale on the open market this century. The record is extremely rare. It’s also a supreme exemplar of the genre…

I can’t believe that Julian. You must have been on some good gear. 🤣

Lol, Julian, next time you see Butch ‘remind’ him of that ‘box of them’ he had at £50 ‘a piece’ in the late 90’s, early 2000’s. His reaction will tell you that whoever ‘reminded’ you of it completely made that up!!!

I shall enquire of my 'source' when I next see him. I won't name him to protect the innocent😁

Maybe he was hallucinating?

Cheers Tim. Hope you’re well. Butch’s box was always a joy to browse at the 100 Club with stacks of contemporary in-demanders…
