A current fave is the Starburst Band (you'll hear it at the weekend).

"Who you gonna run to" - Temptations

Gil Scott Heron - Pieces of a man - flying dutchman lp

not sure if these are really mellow, but compared to the funk 45s that are usually on the turntable, they are......

Freddie Hughes "I Gott Keep My Bluff In"

Little Herman "One Out of a Hundred"

I actually saw the Freddie Hughes LP recently.

Anyone know if it is as good as the above 45?

Theres actually a really great version of this on a 2004 by Tad Robinson, a white bluesy singer (sorry Fraser :) ) that I believe is getting played at Orwell (MR Trout mentioned it I think), well worth £14 but only on cd I am afraid.

Can do you a cdr of it if you want to hear it first, pm if interested.
