I'm gonna show my ignorance here Steve.....especially as I bought this back around 81/82 ish when it was a big sound (and bloody expensive at the time around £20.....especially considering how many turned up!!) but whats the difference between the issue numbers? (have to check what number my issue is when I get home from work??) is one a 12"?

Different take,and yella' label

Have to say although the boing boing synth drums may sound a little dated to some, that was part of the initial excitement on the record........especially on the intro and the break..........aaaaahhhh Clifton Hall. As this record fell out of favour I never really took much notice of it again, only at home now and then, didn't even realise it was a different take........hey you learn everyday. I like the second take on it and can imagine if I heard that first it would be my preference, but I'm staying loyal to the synth drum :ohmy:

What was all that about a yellow label mentioned earlier

As a dancefloor tune, I much prefer the "boing boing" version as well. It has got much more "oomph" and power when played loud. :unsure: As for home playing I'll probably go with the other version, but mainly because I've heard the 1879 version a whole lot more and it's nice with a change.

I've never seen it on a yellow label and the mention of it existing above was the first I've ever seen.

Been after the 1932 version as well for a while Steve with no joy sad.gif

As for the going rate what's a 1932 fetching?

Also legend has it Dave Thorley had several copies & didn't realise until after they had all been sold.

Where is Dave when you need him.

Even with the nasty disco boo-boo noises - the first copy pisses all over the later issue in the sense of being a better 'club' record.

Still shit though.

I choose to use 'going rate' cos i'm fed up with folks asking for wants and not wanting to pay anything for them! If you're in the wants section imho by default, you should be willing to pay 'going rate' (if not more!) for whatever it is you're after.

for alerting us to this, and I for one have been totally unaware when trading or flicking through record sales boxes of the slightly different takes on this tune. I am sure many others have, but didnt know.

Here I am, yes there was a feeding frenzy when I listed it, got about 10 copies out of the back of a store in the deep south. Must have sold all in 3 days!!!!. One of the buyers phoned me a couple of days later just to rub it in, oh how we (he) laughed. :wicked:
