Wow, haven't been on soul source for a while due to work commitments. Can't believe Nottingham has been cancelled. I was aware that the live acts were not a certainty but was sure the all dayer was. I have just found out that my plane tickets are non refundable, there is a possibility that they may be changed to a different date so could anyone let me know what's on in Nottingham (if anything) round about that time.

Well myself and Mr Baby cakes will be heading down to Rugby allnigthter, cracking line up, should be a good way to dance off some of those easter eggs!! , and as for getting in touch with Trandy, if all these other folk are still waiting for replies then it seems to me they have a lot of emails to send, damn!!! should have bought those shares in Hotmail when i had the chance!!, dont get me wrong, i do have sympathy for them, but let it be a lesson to all the wanna be promoters out there...its not big and its not clever...leave it to the professionals, its what we pay them for

Seems to me theres a lot of nastynas out there. Not normally associated with the soul scene. So why is it somthing to due with the promoters?

Very disappointed to hear that the Bank Holiday All dayer at the Palais de Danse in Nottingham will not be going ahead after all. Tracy and Andy have put such a lot of hard work trying to make this event happen against over welming odds, I know that their motivation was not financial but the love of the music and they must be crushed by eventually having to conceed defeat. A question was raised on the forum as to why the Dayer couldnt go ahead anyway .. well I for one would definitely give these people my 110% support if they decided to run the All Dayer without Little Anthony and the Imperials .... they deserve it [plus the venue holds cherished memories from the East Midland Soul club days ] ......

I'm in the same predicament as you . Can't get a refund on my flights so would be grateful for any info on what else is on. Not sure if my flight dates can be changed . Has to be in or around Nottingham as my geography not so good .

Well I've just written off for my refund. Disappointed but it's hardly a life or death situation for the ordinary punters, not sure why all the bile against the promoters is necessary. All promoters started somewhere after all, and even the most experienced ones with lots of financial backing sometimes have disasters.

(JUST 200 YARDS FROM THE PALAIS)

VENUE CONFIRMED & BOOKED

DJ'S TO BE ANNOUNCED.

2:00PM TILL 12:00 (or till no one wants anymore beer and we've run out of records to play!)

This venue will become a regular monthly event in a few months time offering all the great music that people know the Driving Beat Soul Club for but offering something a little different in terms of a venue. There are 2 rooms, the first being a chill out room with DJ booth, bar and room to chill & mingle, whilst up stairs there is a DJ booth, bar and dance floor. This is not the biggest venue going with a capacity of 300, and seeing as there is not alot of time left we cannot do this by ticket so it will be a pay at the door event based on first come first served basis.

After all thats gone over this day you might want to know why we are doing this? Well on other threads relating to this day a challange was thrown down, come on Notts sort something out. So we have.

We are doing this for the love of the music and to help restore some of Nottinghams tarnished reputation.
