  2. This is a wonderful instrumental the deserves some more spins out, was popular for me back in the day and people used to say it has a bit of 'Frankie Crocker' going on about it, What do you think ? Crank it up and give it some welly!
  3. Same Here Steve and i'm Sad To say You Just Set Me Off Again, I get asked Why i get So Emotional about Real Soul Music, I just Look At them Bemused and say, If you Need to ask me a Question like that, Then you Don't Have any Soul, Enuff Said I Think.
  4. Well Said and Very well put That Man, You are not Alone In the Way You Feel, A Lot of Us are Still In Mourning and May Never Get Over Her Passing. But She Has Left Us Such A Vast Amount Of Soul and Gut Wrenching Music That Will Probably Never, Ever, Be Bettered, We Thank You Aretha.
  5. Well, Don't know what you will make of this Left Field full On African Funk, but it is as Black and Full On as it Gets, You all know me by now, Love to put up things you may or may not need to know about rather than the Tried And Tested. This is Funky as S**T Then Some (English Translation, Love Is Me, Love Is You)

  9. Great record! and yes it was played out lots back in the day, Sam, Arthur and Poke so got lots of Gleggy plays and of course Dickie boy was well on the case too, there were one or two others as well, (all this already mentioned), i missed out on this when John had them and from what i can gather from my trips to Kings Lynn he did not have many, hence the Big Boys were the lucky ones, I think the secret is on this great record is simple, it is just that it is a bloody great record, with that catchy little riff that Zips about on the record, yes they struggled to get dance floor reaction to it but who cares if nobody danced to it because everyone that liked it wanted to own it (like me) this record will fly out, no worries, and quite rightly so 'Pure Quality' bringing back great memories so Looking forward to my copy dropping through my letter box some time soon. Just for the record i have no problem with playing records that don't fill dance floors as long as i see smiles on faces and feet taping or that they look my way and give that knowing NOD, and maybe a little ripple of clapping hands is more than welcome because it means people are showing they appreciate what I'm are trying to do,

  18. I have played this Tony Hester Clip over and over again thinking, I know this, then it hit me, Keep A Hold On Me - Diane Lewis/ JJ Barnes Sweet Honey Baby (Gold Mine GS030) from 1998 (both tracks un-issued) Notice that writer credits on Diane lewis (above) are G Redd* - R McCoy* Where as Tony Hester version on Hayley Records Writer Credits are C Redd - J Cosby was also recorded by Porgy and the Monarchs
  19. Mine arrived today (Thursday), Very nice Double Sider and on the Turntable as i Type, New Quality Soul is alive and well as have to say I'm sick to death of all the re-issues (that are already still available on countless other labels) and re-mixes of tunes that do nothing to improve them, "Upwards and Onwards"

  24. Yea that's True Kirsty, The 7' Single i have has a lot of that stuff edited out as the LP version is well too long for the dance floor at over 5 mins long, just love those Violin strings and the breaks make it ideal for spins back drops an clapping, puts a smile on my face anyway
