  1. Des is always really reasonable - as I'm sure the others can be if pushed hard enough Thought I would mention that this is on the same day as Burnley so all you guys and gals can get a days worth of digging in before heading over to the allnighter. Can think of worse ways to spend a day / night
  2. Post your lookback on the lookback thread and your playlist on the playlist thread - just like Phil did
  3. Not for me I'm afraid. As for sounding like CJ? It sounds like White Horses to me
  4. What has Sandy Holt got to do with anything? I bet he hasn't set foot anywhere near anything soul related without a television camera pointing at him for nearly 30 years.
  5. I didn't see it at the time but Nev kindly sent me a link once it had finished. Is it ok to post it here or would you rather it via pm?
  6. Is this the one that sold on Ebay recently?
  7. It wasn't the first time I'd heard it - it was the first time I heard it out. I only remember it was Keb because I thought it strange that he would play it with him being all 60s newies and that
  8. Not saying you didn't Ken but it was defintely Keb who played it when I first heard it. Don't know what label it was on though.
  9. Oh I agree. I think the first time I remember hearing it played out was when Keb played it at the 100 club, must have been the mid 80s.
  10. Went / go. It has been played for a lot of years and is still getting played a lot now. Like Chalky I would put this in the classic oldie catagory. Even remember Keb playing it at the 100 club.
  11. What? It is about the record not who plays it. You might as well say it depends who the ears belong to as to whether it can sound good or not
  12. It has had major plays. All depends where you go I suppose.
  13. Eddie Parker - I'm Gone.
  14. I for one will miss them both... especially Mick for being an all round nice guy with incredible tunes who always plays requests if you ask him. Oh and for being one of the only DJ's I think is exceptional over the mic.
  15. Les played a Volt demo at Burscough which didn't have the backing. Issues do have the backing (as far as I know). Sorry but I don't do British as a rule
  16. Both on Volt. I think it's the demo that is the one without the backing as I have an issue and that has the backing. So good when tunes that have been around for years and years get reactivated. What it's all about
  17. I can't hear much difference in either version apart from the backing, which is the one I prefer.
  18. Sorry Ted, I have to ask - why on earth would anyone sell a record this good?
  19. Hi Pete. As long as you are not in stealth mode it will show the last time you were on line. I think you are shown as offline after 15 minutes of inactivity and that time will show as the last time you were online. Whether you log off or not doesn't make a difference as far as I am aware.
  20. I don't know how anybody can plan their plays in advance. Every night is different - even if it is a regular event in the same venue. Of course we all have an idea what we are going to play but surely that evolves as the set progresses? If someone asks for something and I have it with me I always try my best to play it. As long as it is not near the end of the set you can 'gear' the other records you play in order to fit requests in. It is only when people have their set 'rigid' in their minds that requests disrupt the flow and momentum of a spot. Perhaps people should start requesting DJs to not play certain records
  21. Great question! Anyone got any finds they'd like to share with us? I love Rob. One of the scenes true characters. Wish I lived nearer as I would definitely pay him a visit.
