Just come back from a week in Ibiza attending a ns do. Completely unplanned i ended up at a 3 day house event (first time at a house do for years..) and it was bloody fantastic, (euphoric) and at one point i thought soul (60/70's) is not going to be the same again. Went to a charity ns do on saturday and when certain tunes were played I had the same unbelievably good feeling . so i guess it is just not worth trying to compare types of music, just enjoy what you like.

I saw the other week that a rare teapot which was broken sold for £650,000 (might have been $), . I also did a quick search of values of rare stamps - which i no nothing about and have no interest - and it seemed from a quick look that any where there were less than 10 known sold for hundreds of thousands. Makes you think as I know what I would rather have.... so just maybe the truly rare and quality records in top condition have actually got a long way to go still valuewise ?

theres a few on my wants list that just dont come up for sale so it they did then my 'spend' could be more than last few years, if not i will have to keep waiting on those (I'm desperate for this 'crash' with everyone selling off their collections which some have predicted!). Will continue to buy bits and pieces and will probably sell a similar number (if i can be bothered with the hassle) as i dont really want to increase the total quantity.

Prophets - one gold piece -shrine, not just v.rare (not booted or re-issued ?) but a unique sounding track, never heard it out so just being on a dance floor to hear it would be enough.......... (although actually i would still like it myself!).

Could be handy for lots of things which i tend to mislay, however i always know exactly where my record box is even when asleep!

Tony & Di have been running this for a few years now at the White Swan hotel and gets a regular following from the south coast. kicks off at 4pm so time for the sunday carvery and some decent sussex ale before going into the function room. I think a lot of people will already have plans for the august bank holiday this year (soulwise or other) , especially those who do camping/camper vanning etc...

But isn't this a 'test pressing' produced for internal purposes as opposed to a demo which are produced for the purpose of being given away?

wouldn't Motown (now Universal) have a right to claim they still owned it as presumably it was never actually sold to anyone ? .... just a thought
