  1. Who cares? It wouldn't bother me at all as a punter.
  2. I didn't make it when I visited in June but it was clear it was popular. Almost sold out every night, great reviews and no reduced tickets in the Times Square booth
  3. Love this one. One of his very best!
  4. The Dome didn't try to do it. It was a Friday night bash the week before 100 Club so it didn't compete with it. Maybe The Rocket tried but failed spectacularly.
  5. Ha ha, yes correct. With local DJ's and cheap entrance fee. No big names. Cross section of people who are not neccessarily fanatics or anoraks but enjoy the music.
  6. I think it’s always happened in local do’s. I remember a local DJ in the early 80s playing stuff from Inferno, Kent LPs and Tamla Motown reissues. It didn’t bother me at the time as I hadn’t heard them before and I thought the music was fantastic.
  7. He used to write the vintage soul/blues page in Blues & Soul in the 80s.
  8. I've always thought of HDH as being fantastic songwriters rather than producers. The productions on their songs doesn't seem to be any different from songs written by otherss at Motown.

I saw them at Wembley Arena in about 1988. Great show. I’m surprised we haven’t had one comment of disco crap yet. A lot of people dismiss them based on what they know of their hits. Even I’m sick of Boogie Wonderland. But there’s so much great material out there. Expansion released an excellent CD last year with stuff they produced for other artists.
  10. Who are Bridges — Knight- Eaton?
  11. Blimey. I bought this from Soul Bowl in 1985 for £3 blind, simply because it was on Golden World. I never liked it that much at the time but prefer it much more now.
  12. RIP Bobby. So many great records.
  13. Smokey is a legend and one of my musical heros. You should definitely go
  14. I hope so too. I won't know for sure until nearer the time but have done a bit of research and it's not too difficult to get to.
  15. All from edited 45s Jock, otherwise they don't count
  16. House music. I'm not joking.
  17. Why not? The sound quality is better than downloads.
  18. She seems a real fighter so I hope she can beat this. I loved the live show last year and look forward to seeing her again.
  19. Now she is a very good dancer in that clip.
  20. Excellent. Arguably, the greatest singer of all time!
  21. I'm in NY that weekend. Sounds great! Haven't got the faintest idea where it is but I'm sure I can find a way.
