  1. The best posting yet
  2. I think James Trouble actually said that
  3. Dave Rimmer replied to a post in a topic in All About the SOUL
Spot on Ged, it's venue owners that are suggesting allnighters, rather than promoters asking for them
  4. Yes, a very good look alike as well.
  5. Officially it did. Although I believe copies did appear at a record fair in the States quite regularly
  6. I think Max would have been tickled pink to know that someone in Nebraska knew who he was. I've delayed writing anything because I just didn't know what to say, I still don't, except to say what a tragic loss so soon after he started his well earned retirement. Rest in Peace Max, A legend in your own lifetime, you led the way for so many in the early years, and that's an achievement any of us would be proud to claim. Condolences to the family, and John and Ken as well.
  7. Motown allegedly stopped the publication of Simon Soussan's book because there were Motown labels on the front cover.
  8. I've had a dig around in the filing cabinet, and I've got issues 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.25, one I assume is issue 6 although there's no number on it, 7, and 8. Is that the full set ? I'm gonna spend the next couple of hours reading them and then will scan some bits in if I get time
  9. Mike have a look at this site https://www.8trackheaven.com/ There is a sales section where you can buy 8 track players

On what basis do you claim that to be true. Why would someone who dances more fully understand what punters require ? Clearly the capability to dance is a physical requirement, and the capability to understand something is an intellectual requirement. Or are you a dancer

I'm sure at the time Ady told me there were only 90 copies produced.
  12. Do you know, I've never had a massage, so I think I'll take the risk of a right hook and book one over the weekend ps, is there a bar ?

Is it me, or is there no link to the actual website in this post ?
  14. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be at all relaxing with the four of us in there at once Do you do extras
  15. and then complaining about them
  16. I looked at that lot as well, and thought exactly the same. Only five bidders, and the bid jumped straight from £800 to £1200
  17. That's it, blame me if it's wrong  I'm usually pretty confident that dates are right, because I don't include a date if I don't know it. (Of course there are exceptions where labels did strange things with catalogue numbers )
  18. Have I missed something here. I gather someone paid a lot of money for a legit second issue that Craig Moerer sold on ebay. What has this got to do with John Manship ?
  19. I agree. I've seen one and compared it to a proper '60s original release, and Ted Massey was sitting with me at the time. They are really close, and probably have used the same masters and a very good label, but they are slightly different. Whilst Paul Kyser might well have the legal rights to all the songs and the label, re-pressing them and not informing buyers that they are a recent re-press is not morally right.
  20. I resemble that accusation
  21. Oh I agree entirely, that's why I said the web page might be subject to copyright, and I agree with your second point as well. This is the copyright statement on Soulful Kinda Music........ Copyright Statement I've been advised that I should have a proper copyright statement on the site to protect the work I've put into it. I've thought about it, and decided that the following will be the copyright statement. This website is about Soul music. About the sharing of knowledge so that we can all learn more about the music and the artists we love. If you want to use any of the information contained on this website, please do. The only thing I would ask is that you credit this website as the source of your information. That should just about cover it. Dave. :D
  22. Interesting point that. The web page might well be subject to copyright, but there is no way a discography can be subject to copyright because it's just a list of factual information. A comparison would be if you listed the England team, and said it was copyrighted to you. That would mean no other newspaper, website, or any other sort of media would be able to list the England team.
  23. I'm lost ? What's the point of the Youtube clip ? Are you saying you don't know Tobi legend, or are you saying you want records like Tobi legend, ie Played out oldies ?
