Eddie Regan - Playin' Hide And Seek - Info Required
Has Eddie Regan - Playin' Hide And Seek (ABC) been booted, other than the UK release in the 70's with The Sapphires on the other side? Just that I've bought a white demo, thinking it's an original, but now I have my doubts. It has ABC 13095 scratched into the run out, but when I compared it to The Spindles Ten Shades (Demo) & Impressions Cheat And Lie (Stock), they both have Bell Sound stamp in the run out as well, where as that's missing from the Eddie Regan. Any info would be appreciated .

Teddington Soulnites - Thursday 11Th October 2012
Thanks to Ann for letting me spin a few tunes. Teddingtons regular mis-fits were in attendance, I enjoyed myself, not too sure if anyone else did though . Here's the tunes I played between 9.45 - 11.35 (think they're in order), quite a smattering of oldies, but then Teddington could be classed as an oldies venue. Valuations For Some Wants (Played Out - Oldies)
Having been given a PPI refund from the bank (just waiting for payment to go through), after paying for next years holiday, chunk off the credit card, decorate the living room & new carpet, I may just have a tad left to buy one or two records. The following are some long time wants, nothing rare, but always in demand oldies, that I've always covetted, but never been able to afford. What I'm after is a guide to what I could expect to pay for each of them. This will give me some idea as to what I can go for realistically. I'm not in the position to get any just yet so don't send me offers to buy, I'll post up in the wants section when I've the cash in the bank for those that I can afford, thanks. Frank Beverly & The Butlers - If That's What You Wanted b/w Love Your Pain Goes Deep - Sassy Alfie Davison - Love Is A Serious Business - Mercury The Metros - Since I Found My Baby - RCA Jack Montgomery - Dear Beloved - Scepter Jack Montgomery - Baby Baby Take A Chance On Me - Revue The Majestics - I Love Her So Much It Hurts - Linda George Freeman - Down And Out - Valiant Major Lance - You Don't Love Me No More - Okeh Any assistance is much appreciated chaps & chappesses .

The opening music on that site sounded like the group playing in the next field on Carry On Camping!

Soulboy Film Bbc2 Tonight
Saw it for the first time last night. Nice to hear a few tunes, but as for the actual film and script thought it was very poor indeed. I'd have been disappointed to pay good money at the cinema to watch a film that didn't last as long as your average Carry On film. As for the lead character he bore too much of a resemblance to Big Cook, from CBBC's Big Cook Little Cook, for me to take him seriously. See what I mean? As for Felicity Jones, thought she was better in that other 70's based film Cemetery Junction. Still thought she was the best actor/actress in Soulboy though, mind you wasn't much competition was there. As a whole preferered George Gently's nod to Northern Soul.

John Manships Price Guide
I don't have any of the John Manship prices guides, but then I buy stuff at the lower end of the price scales. What I tend to do is search different dealers, buy-it-now ebay listings, sales lists and sellers on here, then work out a price that I'm willing to pay from those. But I've also been looking at the on-line price guide that's on Anglo-American site, which doesn't seem to add up. They'll be records valued at £50, then when you follow the link to the shop listing, it's up for £75!? So how accurate are these price guides really?

Is This Now The Rarest /dearest 100 Club Anniversary Single ?
I paid £20 for my copy last year off Anglo-American site, not sure if they realised or not that it was priced low or not, just glad I got it when I did. I need just the Melba Moore to complete the set (cocked up when Pete listed it last year, got my dates mixed up). Anyway saw a copy last week listed on Ebay. The seller being Chris Anderton, as I was desperate to get it I emailed him asking if he'd pull it from Ebay and sell it to me. He was honest enough to say he didn't know what price to put on it, thought £40-£50, but would leave the listing to run. As I was away for the weekend and wouldn't have internet access I put in a bid of somewhere in the region of £95, in the hope of winning it. Imagine my suprise when I got home to find I hadn't won it and that in fact Chris had for his part, made the correct decision. https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&item=261065395628&nma=true&rt=nc&si=H9SxdHmhFkcEj64vXIF6bbYbApo%253D&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc Just hope this doesn't set the price for any future copies.

Ebay Sellers That Post Using Crap Packaging
I've been fortunate and always received in tact. The only problem I ever encountered was the dog biting into a package containing a copy of Levert Allison, after which did not contain a drill hole more of a dog tooth hole!

Are Dj Bookings/spots Incestuous?
I can see a market here for something along the lines of yellow pages, maybe DJ's - R - Us? Put a directory together with dj's name & contact details, alongside details of records played & booking fees required. And why does nobody have the balls to name these clubs/promoters who are incestuous? Would they be the same club/promoters who only play boots & re-issues? Some of the topics on here recently are getting really repetative.

I Wish Bootleggers Would F*ck Off
I take it we are referring to the Outta Sight label? How have they released Gigi & the Charmaines - I Don't Want To Lose Him? When it was only issued 5/6 years ago on Kent 100 Club single, why has it not been released by Kent?

I love that Kenny Wells record! If anyone has one that they no longer want, then I can guarantee a nice home for it in exchange for a few old buttons and a couple of old toffee wrappers .

Get Your Bids In For This Wigan Patch,?
Could the same not be said about records? I know I've had friends remark to me that I must be mad paying "x" amount for records. If someone wants to pay hundreds for a badge, then good luck to them.

Clara Hardy - Prices Back Up It Seems
I was watching this on Ebay out of interest to see what it went for, £400+ , glad I got mine of that college seller for about £90 from a couple of years back. When I looked yesterday there was also a VG- copy on there at $9.99 with no bids, be interesting to see what that goes for, might be abit more realistic price. If not and that goes for a few hundred, i may have to auction mine through John Manship .

Calling All The South Coast Promoters
I've been lurking in the background, reading the recent posts about the South Coast. Here's a suggestion, if you all get on and support one another, Soul In The South, Southampton Soul Club (& Ghetto Soul), On The Soul Side & Southern Soul Party, why not just merge all together and come under one banner/promotion, therefore immediately increasing support and cutting down on possible clashes? Atmosphere at do's plays a big part, yes some enjoy listening (or in some dancing) to music, but if the crowds aren't there this in turn has an affect on future attendees. From afar it looks to me like you all have a similar music policies, so why not just have the one promotion running with the new, rare & underplayed theme? Because from an outsiders point of view it looks like all 4 of the above are just competing against one another, the other promoters down the South Coast (IMO) seem to be targetting or appealing to the oldies/scooterist audience, who in turn are not generally interested in rare and underplayed. I maybe mistaken, but like I stated that is the impression that I get. You could still all agree not to clash and have seperate promotions, but as I see it, some oldies fans may attend rare and underplayed nights, they will say to the promoters that they enjoyed it, because they don't want to cause upset by saying what they really feel, which is that "they endured it!"
