Billy Clark & The Maskman - Soul Party - *now Sorted*
Came out in a picture sleeve in Spain (on Columbia - labels reversed on the copy i have), and I also have a spanking white US demo that took me the best part of 15 years to locate.

I Wish Bootleggers Would F*ck Off
It's a particularly perverse sex act involving half a pint of Olive Oil, a Midget and a child's Tonka Truck toy... "I Shazamed him until he was walking like John Wayne..."

Harvey - Any Way You Wanna - Label Question
Only needs Sheldon and you've got Bingo!

Harvey - Any Way You Wanna - Label Question
from memory the issue has an italic stamp - it's either ARP or Nashville Matrix (I can't put my hands on mine at the minute to confirm).

Harvey - Any Way You Wanna - Label Question
Without matrix info I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. The Attic record store is in Monroeville, just over the river from Pittsburgh, and as such gets loads of Pittsburgh boots - they've definitely had boots of Harvey in on a double sided Harvey issue.

Obscure Northern Soul
If it's a general Soul radio station, that usually plays the hits, then 90+% of Northern will be obscure to the listeners. Why not pick up the 'Northern Souls Classiest Rarities' series from Kent and feature the tracks off it which you don't know? Job done. You can Paypal me my £10 consultation fee direct.

Rare Uk Labels, Mainly Demos, Big List Part 1
Not quite right, it got a Picture Sleeve issue in Europe on London (earlier than the A&M release)..

You can keep the House, but upstairs at Bradford was belting.

He didn't rescue me (not that i needed it, everything was going swimmingly) - he was too busy turning up at venues with CDs (with no CD players), then borrowing boots to play in their place...

Doris Beatmaker Reissue
Well i've got the LP, so I must be on the wrong site as well.

Billy Davis - Stanky (Get Funky) Cobblestone M/m- Northern Soul 45 - $110 Us
Since you are fishing - i think your copy is vastly overpriced. It was 'hot' for a while but it's definitely gone off the boil now. I know Manships prices it at 100, but 50 is nearer the mark now.

The Invitations - (Artist Of The Week)
Brett, I offered to cancel the sale as I thought he had bid on it by mistake - but he was adamant that he wanted it...

The Invitations - (Artist Of The Week)
If I remember correctly, the DynoVoice boots are easy to spot as the labels are blue with black print. The sound quality is terrible on them. I sold one one eBay about ten years ago for over £50 to a US buyer - he knew it was a counterfeit, but he was a DynoVoice collector and he wanted it as it was the first one he'd ever seen for sale.

Rnb / Soul Sale Clearout
It's been well known in the R&B rooms for years - i must have sold at least a dozen copies on the jamaican coxone press.

What Uk Labels Are Considered Ovo
"Can of worms..." IMO (and it's only my opinion for what it's worth) then if it was a 'roughly' contempraneous release (ie within a few months of the US issue) then it's an Original. So Jackey Beavers Trying To Get Back To You on Jay Boy (Boy 102) would be fine to play, but Jackie Lee 'Oh My Darlin' Jay Boy (Boy 28) wouldn't. If it's a different mix/version, therefore there's no original release, then it's OK (ie Deon Jackson on Contemporaries, Montclairs on Contempo).

Nice Record Shame About The Middle
Billy Profit - Slowly I Turn - Barry. Skip the intro and the slowed down section at 1'22 and you'd have a stonking record - with them it's a WTF? kinda record.

Ivorys was a bit top heavy.
