HI CHALKY & HI TO ALL THOSE BROTHERS & SISTERS, WHO ATTENDED THE LAST LIFELINE ALL-NIGHTER, THANKS FOR SUCH A GREAT NIGHT, The LIFELINE EVENT was the best night out for years, and I was realy looking foreward to this event. The descision not to go ahead or as you stated being cancelled, is understandable if those who promote other events understand your logic? Doubt it very much. They have failed to understand the real fraternal spirit that you make this gesture, it is quite clear to me, such an admorable attitude, goes one way only their way? As a indervidual I have attended All-Nighters from 1969 or as I like to say, From the WHEEL to KEELE. Before moveing to Wolves 32 years ago, I would travel 300 miles at a weekend to be at the best All-Nighters, and I can state that this is up with the best, so I hope that the gesture made is in the interest of it's patrons, and future nights go ahead, Personally I think it is a bad move, but by doing this I hope the message get's through to to all, that the MIDLANDS can run and atract a top quality ALL-NIGHTER, I HOPE THE NEXT NIGHT IS A SELL OUT, and history does not repeat it self. HI AL KEN was a typical middle of the road entertainer, singing in Hotels and Clubs, in the MONTEGO BAY area, he is best known for singing RUDE SONGS, loads of 'pussy cocky pum pum, type records, never as good as BUSTERS ALL STARS though, best record by far is his version of 'the RECORD' DAVE

HI ALL.. Recently I put an advert in the wants section, for a copy of BLUES & SOUL #2 Monthly mag? as my copy was very tatty? The first issue of the magazine, was on the 1st October 1967, and I can remember, an apprentice who was into blues music, reading the first issue, and moaning about it not being as good as HOME of the BLUES, (KEN was a real WEST HAM GRAMMER SCHOOL KID) He said 'theirs loads of kid stuff in it' BLUES AND SOUL Monthly ran to #23 November 1969, and had a metermorphisis into a bi-weekly A4 mag 2nd Jan to 15th, 1970 at the same price of 2/6d with the TEMPTATIONS on the cover in COLOR? Since then I have noticed that the price for the magazines have gone from £10 - £20 each into 3 figuers. this is most noticable on Ranking Johnny Boys auction site, What I would like to no, is why has there been such a high jump in price?. and as such will I ever get a copy of #2?? To me the most desireable copy out of them all is BLUES & SOUL #50 DAVE

HI Cheers for that, thing have improved a bit, sorted out some of my social needs, I had my 1st home cooked Sunday dinner 2 weeks ago, 1st this year, I was so full I fell asleep sitting in my chair for 18 hours, so the money side is sorted after 2 1/2 years, I am far from rich, All I can say is this country is in a mess, and if any one on soulsource thinks they will be ok! if they lose their job, I can tell you, it's the hardest time I have spent DC & BORSTOL are a dodddle in comparasion? It's so hard telling your mates that £1 takes on a whole new meaning? This unelected Goverment is run by idiots, and it gets worse, I cant claim for any money even though I have worked all my life? On a positive side, I kept my records, even though some people said I should sell them? I think I would flog my ass rather than sell my DUSTYS? DAVE

HI A easy ome for me to answer? way back in 1972, when I first heard this classic, it instantly become a must have, and when Chris BURTON put it out on HIS out of the past label, it satisfied my need, however by 1974, I wanted decent looking records in my box, so I hunted down the VIP copy, and for some time I was happy with the white DEMO, Only to discover there was a colord VIP DEMO with a B SIDE, & IT HAD ALSO HAD A VIP ISSUE, I still have a white DEMO with 'why am i' on both side, to-days value £60, a rule of thumb is the VIP ISSUE is worth 3 x current value of the white DEMO, that makes it £200, but if I had one to-day, I would want £250, lets see what our US Collectors have to say? HI DAVE..#1 DJ He was, although, I was just a FACE back then, I do have great memorys of going around the guest house he owned, he had not been long married, when myself, BIG CLIVE, MICK SMITH & CHRIS GALARD went a calling on him, this was after we went hunting for a well known SOUTHPORT collector, thought he could get away with out paying for records? We took TONY to the HIGHLAND ROOM, were he got a good reception from everyone, then we set of to the CASINO, WHERE AGAIN HE GREATED WITH WARM APLAUSE! he actualy did a spot at the CASINO that night, KEITH MINSHAL gave him use of his DJ BOX, RIGHT ON KEITH, a great night, and the start of the LAVINE IS S**T Campaine, As you well no MICK HAS A CLOSE BOND WITH TONY,and he is deverstated at the news and your apeal, he is away on Holiday with Lynn, but has assured me that he will make contact with TONY when he returns, until he does, we are all thinking positive thoughts for our #1 man, if there is any thing I can do to help, please contact me, also if I can have updates for the lads pleasekeep me informed mate, EACE & LOVE DAVE KILWORTH,

HI ALL The problem with trying to get the US ABC Boot look a like, is it never comes up for sale, although value is about £20, most people would keep hld of it, as it is such a classic and the price diffarance between origanal, and for many the YUM YUMS is the winner?

HI ALL Thanks for the positive remarks, personally I ftnd great solis in SOULSOURCE, and have got to meet people through the pages of the site, at times it reminds me of the early days at WIGAN when I had no transport, and how har it was getting to by thumbing a lift, but once there, no matter what my needs were, from complete strangers, that I had just met, I never needed to feel that, by asking was pointless, I have had people come and give me records, and I have said whats that for? and been told "I had 2 and you did me a favour" that is all part of the scene, and it costs nothing most of the time to make someone happy? HI MATE All I can do to help you. is this :- LAFAYETTE VAUGN - RECORDED A FEW SONGS, But thats as far as it went, and i'm not 100% sure but they did not get pressed? he was a 'parrafin lamp' living on the streets of DETROIT, He rocorded the session in October/november 1971, the only other record that I have heared is - 'THAT'S BAD', HOPE THIS HELPS MATE.??
