  1. Different mixes. Both the Balja and Music City 45's were plated by the pressing plant the same day. I prefer the Music City mix. Craig Moerer has got 61 copies of the Music City 45 in stock at the moment at $50 each. He had big quantity of the Balja label release as well up until recently.
  2. The release on LINDA from 1965 is pressed on vinyl, not styrene. As mentioned many times before, both the RAMPART and WARNER BROS releases are reissues from 1969 issued in conjunction with a "greatest hits" package called "Golden Treasures Volume Two: West Coast East Side Revue".
  3. No, it's a repro.

Nice to see Marvin Gaye's version of "The Touch Of Venus" on there (the Ed Cobb penned tune, Sandy Wynns etc.). It's on Spotify as well: https://open.spotify.com/album/5kBab69l77HMog4O7y8aFp
  5. If you only play mono records, it might be an idea to get a proper mono stylus/cartridge. The mono stylus in the Ortofon 2M range for example: https://ortofon.com/hifi/products/cartridges/2m-series/2m-mono
  6. OK, thanks for checking. Too bad though, it would be great if this existed on vinyl.
  7. Have you seen this: Compare the angles of the line in the "B" on your copy to the ones in the link above. If it is like the "B" on the styrene original, then I guess the vinyl one you have is original too. I'd love to have that one if so.
  8. It was included in the "Crash Of Thunder" 10x7" box-set from seven years ago: https://www.discogs.com/Various-Crash-Of-Thunder/release/1333557
  9. That specific sellers "VG++" is most UK sellers "M-". A lot of people watches that sellers auctions, and checks out the soundclips, which results in plenty of people finding out about a great 45 that they never knew existed. That 45 should be three times the price of the recent auction based on quality and rarity. It's NOT an easy to find 45. Turns up about once or twice per year on eBay and I don't see many copies listed set sale from the major dealers or here on SoulSource. I can't for the life of me understand why records like these should be cheap just because they "always have been"? Demand changes. It turns up for sale infrequently and it's fantastic. "There are lots of copies in collections out there"... "I got this in a soulpack"... I hear you say. Well, as long as those copies don't hit the market the prices will understandably soar.
  10. Different flipside on the Hot Cinnamon 45. Does anyone have a scan of the Hot Cinnamon 45?
  11. Motown Yesteryear started in January 1973 and continued until the mid-80's (1986-ish as far as I know). Motown distributed Hi Records from 1982 until 1993 which explains the Al Green titles. Below is the ad announcing the "Motown Yesteryear" series from the 20 January 1973 issue of Billboard Magazine.
  12. Put it next to HL 10069.
  13. It's now only about 1-2 hours to go on these auctions: https://www.ebay.com/sch/pushkings/m.html Thanks for looking!

  17. If it's of any interest, the jamaican 45 on eBay sold for the "best offer" of $2500. Not to me though.
  18. Fire "Flight To Cuba" went cheap! I really should pay more attention to his auctions.

  23. I know what you mean, but it was probably just another "discotheque record" for the heads at the Italian label. The Joe Quarterman LP on GSF from earlier in 1973 also got an Italian release and most likely was a decent seller and a big play at the discos. Perhaps they chanced on another GSF artist hoping for the same? Or had a multi-release deal in place. Hard to know now, but it wouldn't surprise me. The soul/funk/r&b stuff that was released in Scandinavia for example (or US stuff that turns up here) is mind boggling at times.
  24. The same can be said for tens of thousands of records by virtually unknown or previously non-successful artists that have been released around the globe. Record labels take chances, or at least they should do. Throw thirty things on a wall and one might stick.
