Can Anybody Tell Me Who This Is?
As mentioned in the post above I don't have these two records in particular. I do like researching stuff like this, so I did one quick search yesterday and came up with the Jesse Powell 45 immediately based on the lyrics, but I didn't want to post it up on here because I wasn't sure. But when you wrote that it was a mis-pressed Fire label 45 you had, I did a couple of more searches and came up with the mastering numbers being similar and it kind of "sealed the deal". As I wrote, it was too much of a coincidence. I don't have a huge collection like many people on here, but I do collect records heavily and have got somewhere between 8.000-10.000 soul/r&b/funk 45's in my personal collection. I also run a tiny record store so I'm surrounded by records at all times. Enjoying, researching, cataloging and documenting music has always been very close to my heart and luckily I have the privilege to work full-time with handling vinyl records. I'm really, really happy about that being a reality and not something I take for granted.

- Can Anybody Tell Me Who This Is?
I don't have either of the 45's, but it's most likely Jesse Powell Orchestra "Let's Talk It Over, Baby" on FLING. The following two 45's were both released in 1960 and were pressed at the same plant: Mary Ann Fisher - Only Yesterday / Wild As You Can Be - FIRE 1010 Jesse Powell Orchestra - Kingfish Rock / Let's Talk It Over, Baby - FLING 715 Mary Ann Fisher has got mastering numbers FM 119 and FM 120. Jesse Powell has got mastering numbers FL 119 and (probably, I haven't been able to check) FL 120. So seems like a mix-up at the pressing plant I might be totally wrong, but it seems like too much of a coincidence.- Falcons, Carl Henry Hall, Irina Milan, Four Below Zero Etc

I didn't know that it was included in a mix. I had it as an MP3, so uploaded it. Anyone that puts "jonathan capree mp3" into google will come straight to a standalone MP3 of the tune. Why should I post a link to an MP3 or a mix, when it's much easier for everyone (and along the site guidelines) if it's available directly on YouTube? Or are you suggesting that every tune uploaded to YouTube is done by someone who owns the original 45?- Jonathan Capree - Gonna Build Me A Mountain - Ox Bow
He did a 45 on the MINI label as well. For some reason Manship has soundclipped the worst side: https://www.raresoulman.co.uk/d/164967/CAPREE,_JONATHAN_.AND._TOGETHERNESS "To Be Free" is no masterpiece, but it's at least uptempo and has got a slight mod jazz feel to it.- Jonathan Capree - Gonna Build Me A Mountain - Ox Bow
No, I don't have a white demo. I just put up the MP3 on YouTube. I've never seen a white demo of this, and doubt that it exists. I'll take down the YouTube clip in a minute and re-upload with another picture. EDIT: here we go, new clip, hope this ends the confusion...- Jonathan Capree - Gonna Build Me A Mountain - Ox Bow
I put up the tune on YouTube as a result of this thread. I thought it was a bit ridiculous that it was not on YouTube when MP3s of the tune are easily found on the internet.- Fabulous Originals, Chuck Andrews, Inmates, Jean Shy Etc

I'll do that. They should get Timmion to master it as "hot" as possible.- Valdons
Would be fantastic if they actually repressed it and made new stampers with a proper mastering that is much louder. As it is now it sounds very "thin" when you play it at a venue.- Is This Who It Says It Is?

The so called "proper" ITZY release was itself a re-issue for the "oldies" market in Pittsburgh. ITZY released (and apparently still release!) lots of stuff primarily for that area. The ITZY re-issue has later been bootlegged(!) as well. Bottom line: the ITZY release is a re-issue of the original Swan release.- Del Larks - Job Opening - Queen City - Mint Original
I don't mean to tell you how to do this, but this is how I would do it: Yes you can tell people what to bid and you should in this kind of situation. First bidder comes in with £5500. Second bidder comes in with a bid of £5500. You contact the second bidder and tell them that there already is a bid of £5500 on the record and that they need to increase their bid if they want to have a chance of purchasing the record. Otherwise they're out. Then you tell the other bidders (if there are any) that a new bid has registered so that they know that they need to up their bids in case they still want to be in the running.- A.j.
