  3. Yes mate, on Stockwell Gate between the market and Queen St
  4. You know I'm just a young pup - mind you, as of last Friday i'm closer to 60 than 50.......... Is the frank you're on about the one who we got to know at Burnley/Lifeline etc in recent years? He was from Warsop originally and moved to Notts. Robinsons Tailors was where most of our crowd had our trousers made in the late 70s, much better than jeloneks...............
  5. No that was me, didn't make the last cornerhouse but will be at the next one
  6. Was at a party a couple of years ago and Ivor bought me a pint............ I nearly fainted Great photos BTW Derek
  7. Nice memories but they're mostly pressings aren't they? could be a list of stuff I bought at the time - same as most people I knew back then. They were only 85p in Syd Booths in Mansfield though, bargain..
  8. Who's said the scene is dead or dying at this point in time?? The point is whats it going to be like in the future when everyone who's in their 50s & 60s now are either dead or too old to go out. When the wheel, torch and wigan closed, there wasn't a large group of people closer to the end than the beginning their lives. I'll repeat what i said earlier, there might be some small thing going on in 20 years time (maybe less) but not on the scale of today.
  9. Next time you're out and about estimate what percentage of the crowd are young (young being under 40) As time goes on there will possibly be some remnants of a scene left but in 20 years the original generation will be in their 80s (those that are still alive) - anyone who thinks the scene will be anything like its is today is quite frankly living where the cloud cuckoos do.....

  17. Special memory seeing her/them at Northampton - one of those magic moments
  18. I don't think people in general realise that as you get to our age your memories aren't necessarily what you think they are. They can become distorted and change over the years and although you think you can remember something accurately, you could easily be wrong. Just thought I'd throw that in,,,,,,,
  19. Echo previous comments, great to hear from one of the legendary Servicemen - nice one Larry Any tales/stories/info from those days will be greatly appreciated on here!!
  20. When did samanthas finish? It was done by the time i started going to nighters in early 78
  21. An old mate of Steve's Julian Bojko from Farnsfied has asked me to post this for him: "Shocked and saddened by this awful news, Steve was a great guy who was around the northern scene from the mid 70s. He used to travel with us to Wigan on the Notts bus from the Britt, as well as Palais all dayers and all the other venues of that era. In more recent years I've seen him and his wife Liz at local venues such as the Grosvenor & Kingsway and he always had time for a chat and to reminisce - usually with a big smile on his face. I remember his favourite DJ was always John Vincent. .......RIP old mate" Boyco
  22. What a shame Dean, lovely bloke who always had time to have a word with you. Another one gone too soon...
  23. I'm good....
  24. I was around 78/9 and can't remember it from back then although my memory has been AWOL for a while now.........
