  3. I remember Richard had him on his Jazz fm show many moons ago now, absolutely fascinating interview, still got the tape somewhere. Such a wonderful body of work to look back on. Personal fave is Frank Beverley and the Butlers " Love your pain goes deep" R.I.P Billy.

  9. Hi all. Has this ever been booted on Karate?? ...and how can you tell if so!? Cheers Jim;)
  10. This record has been rattling away in my subconscious for about 25 years, I too heard it possibly for the first time in 90 or 91 at the now legendary TAC weekender via Mark on the radio. My tape has long since been lost in a house move. A good friend came to my rescue a number of years ago with a cd with it on. It's right up there with Patrinell Staten for me as one of the best discoveries of 80s/90s. If this gets a legitimate release I'll be over the moon. Fingers crossed, Stoke On Trent.
  11. Massive London spin in the 80s.
  12. Thanks Ivor, if I'm honest that's what threw me mate (the label), my 'new' copy turned up today from the US looking like it just rolled out of the plant..the whole thing is flawless, resplendent in Mala sleeve. Hope you're well squire. Cheers Jim. Ps. Clearly Dee Dee Warwick is letting Pearl sing on this eh? That's got to be DDW on backing vocals.
  13. Hi all. Has this 45 on Mala ever been reissued or booted, Mala 496.??? Cheers Jim.
  14. Never knew James Kelly Duhon was in this line up. Two faves are 'In school' and 'Pusherman'. Great thread.
  15. Willie Tee my arse. That's Jimmy Helms...and I'll wager it's a " recent" recording
  16. That's where I heard it first. 6 pounds from Roger Banks in Allanton record bar.
  17. This is now considered an auction item is it?! Crackers
  18. Bless her, I remember when she sang this at the TAC weekend in about 1990. One song and she was gone.

  20. I think about 86-89 ish Chalks. I've got the lot in the loft, will have to dig them out over the weekend. Despite Richards rather ' interesting manner' they were a pretty good read at the time.
