  1. ..and it's great to hear them played out, so keep going! Alan
  2. Great stuff! More, more... Alan
  3. There has been a spate of these selling for £50-£60 on eBay, with several being listed at any one time. Great record but surely not rare at all. Is this another outbreak of eBay madness? Or am I missing something? Alan
  4. I watched the VLV DVD recently too and was also impressed by The Climb . On the DVD commentary feature it says the track was recorded by the lead singer of the Jubileee Four but the backing vocals, oddly, were by the Jordanaires (Elvis's backing group) and Elvis. Alan
  5. Hi, I've sent you a pm Alan

You can hear it at: https://www.thesoulgirl.com/music/andromeda1.php?q=s&sm=ff&s=nu+t&x=0&y=0 I think it's great too. Alan
  7. Now trading on eBay as Solway49. Alan
  8. Leroy Jones - Baby Don't You Do It is a very good cover of the Marvin Gaye track. I prefer it to the original. Also, a track titled Someday is pretty good - a male vocal, can't remember who it's by offhand. Alan

I think Tommy Rogers - Pass the Word on AJP (on Refosoul here) merits reactivation/push. Alan
  10. Hi, could anyone tell me if this came out as a 45 or is it an album track. Also, was the song done as a 45 by anyone else? thanks Alan
  11. If you're meaning soul dancers based around boogaloo themes (as opposed to the Latin genre)how about: Tommy & Cleve - Boogaloo Baby Jimmy Castor - In a Boogaloo Bag Brothers Two - Boogaloo Soul Party Fantastic Johhnny C - Boogaloo Down Broadway Jerry O - Karate Boogaloo Chubby Checker - Hey You Little Boogaloo Alan
  12. My favourite LP is Backtrack 6 which I bought when it came out in 1970. Lots of great Detroit tracks including If This Is Love I'd Rather Be Lonely, Headache In My Heart, You've Got To Pay The Price, and my favourite: The Parliaments - Don't Be Sore At Me. Alan

Have just listened to it on Refosoul, yes that's it! Great track, love these mid-tempo things. Thanks very much! Alan

Can anyone tell me what the track is played around 9.50, female vocal with lyric "every little thing he..." thanks Alan
  17. I got UK copy off eBay few months ago for £25. Was listed in R&B section and no one else bid. Doesn't seem to be much demand for what I agree is a great and under-played record. Alan
  18. I got 4 off the list today and their condition is superb, very strictly graded. Alan

I wonder if the TMGs started from 501 to have a clear distinction from the numbers used for the motown releases on Stateside label, the last of which I think was Tony Martin - Talkin' to your picture #394. Alan
  22. I don't think the legal position about this is clear cut. If a seller makes an innocent mistake in a description, then the contract is void if the thing sold was substantially different, but if it was not substantially different then it would still be binding. In this case, I think the key issue would still be whether it was actually an original or not. Having said that, good service would be to refund an unhappy customer, especially when the seller won't be incurring transaction costs. It would be intersting to hear a clip of the record. By the time this has finished it will be the most well-authenticated original or most notorious counterfeit ever. Alan
  23. In a similar vein but with 45s, around 25 years ago I was dead pleased to find a copy of Damita Jo - Save the Last Dance on UK Mercury. Very disappointed when I got it home to find in wasn't same as Ranwood version. Also, one has to be careful if buying the Velvets - Let the Fool Kiss you, 2 versions on Monument 45s. Alan
  24. I haven't heard the CD but this would be Henry Jerome I think. Alan
  25. I like it and the Madeline Bell version too, but my top vote goes to Jackie Lee - Oh My Darling. Alan
