  1. The best bit of the video is towards the end when they have the players saying 'Keep The Faith'. I hope if they score on Saturday they'll do spins and backdrops, instead of skidding on their knees or whatever they usually do.
  2. Always liked it, and Let's Have A Love-In instrumental.

    done
  4. Anything unusual about the method of sending? Is it possible that the Post Office has put some out of date sticker on it e.g. for a signing or tracking service that is no longer available? I would ask at the Post Office.
  5. TMG 564: Contours - Just a Little Misunderstanding for me. Closely followed by TMG 507: Four Tops - Where Did You Go.
  6. Paramount Four my favourite.

Oops, I misunderstood last line, sorry.

But that alleged shill bidder has only placed bids of £1. There doesn't seem any reason for a seller to do that. It looks rather that the bidder is hoping to get cheap any records that no one else bids on. There are still a few that close today for which he is the only bidder, and more for which the highest bid is just £1.20. With these tactics you wouldn't expect him to get many purchases, and hence not much feedback.

    Ah, memories of Caley Soul!
  10. I would like to know this too. Also is a different method needed for a paper label and a molded (solid centre UK) label. Thanks.
  11. Really enjoyed it. He comes across as a real nice guy in the interview.
  12. I think he's planning to sell a copy he has, rather than buy one.
  13. About £20-25 would be fair I think.
  14. I used to listen to his shows regularly and would enjoy being able to do so again.
  15. Presumably UK dealers like John Manship or AngloAmerican have to include VAT in their sale prices. Does the principle of charging VAT on imports of all kinds not make it a level playing field for domestic businesses?
  16. I'm that old too! My memory might be failing me here, but I thought he had the Willie Mitchell version as his theme first then switched to the Mike Cotton version later.
  17. I actually quite like it, and on a UK label too. The overall sound reminds me of James Coit - Black Power, which I also like, even though that's often mentioned as the epitome of a crap record. My candidate for worst vocal ever is Nat Cole Jnr - You. Even the superb backing can't hide the fact that NC Jnr can't sing at all.
  18. The Brooklyn Allstars LP is available on Discogs https://www.discogs.com/Brooklyn-Allstars-Jesus-Loves-Me/release/4441915 Is it an out and out gospel record, or is there anything on it of soul/R&B interest?
  19. Could it be Brass Construction - Movin'? Start is a bit like morse code.
  20. I've just watched the northern soul bit online. Thought it was quite respectful and the dancing itself was done well. Lacked the cringe factor of One Show, Paul O'Grady, Wigan's Ovation, Wayne Gibson on Crackerjack etc. In response to the original question, northern soul pops up so much nowadays in general media, it hardly seems worth commenting on here now unless a main feature.
  21. I think it is just these 4, unfortunately.
  22. Great listening. Was surprised to see/hear Nina Simone - My Baby Just Cares For Me on it, but it sounds like it went down well.
  23. I bought a copy as a cut-out in the 70s. I think it's a great album too. I don't think there was anything dodgy about the release, just a way of packaging old soul hits under a well-known soul DJ name (a bit like what was done in the UK with Emperor Rosko). Meka had another Butterball release: 'Butterball Of WDAS Presents 20 Oldies Designed With Young Lovers In Mind' https://www.gemm.com/store/ROYSMEMORYLANE/item/VARIOUS-ARTISTS-BUTTERBALL-OF-WDAS-PRESENTS-20-OLDIES-DESIGNED-WITH-YOUNG-LOVERS-IN-MIND-/1459828259

I have two favourites: The Blenders - Graveyard. Johnny Sayles - My Love's A Monster.
