- Tamla Motown Modern Pack - Why So Expensive?
Can anyone advise what's pushing up the price of this pack, currently £221 for 10 late 70s/early 80s Tamla Motown UK releases: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Batch-of-10-7-inch-Singles-Tamla-Motown-Records-TMG-Series-/190803854036?pt=UK_Records&hash=item2c6ccbc2d4 Obviously I'm missing something, because If I had seen any of the records in a charity shop, I wouldn't have bought them! Thanks in advance.- Ebay Dilemma - Leave Positive Feedback Or Not?
Benji hasn't said he was considering leaving negative feedback - just positive or neutral.- Ebay Dilemma - Leave Positive Feedback Or Not?
If it had seemed a genuine one-off mistake about grading, I might be more inclined to leave no feedback at all. But as seller has a record of poor grading, neutral feedback would seem fair. I don't think you owe any favours for good communication and full refund including return postage. Seller unnecessarily caused you the hassle of returning the record, and possibly anxiety about being ripped off. The feedback system only works if buyers are prepared to honestly report their experiences. If you would feel personally awkward about leaving a 'neutral' rating, you could rate 'positive', refer to the refund for wrong condition in the comments, and give very low score for 'item as described' in in the anonymous Detailed Seller Ratings.- Stax Whats Your Favourite Northern Track
My favourite is The Astors - Candy. Could listen to it every day and never get tired of it. I'm surprised more people haven't named Darrell Banks - I'm the One Who loves You. I would have guessed that that is the most popular Northern track on Stax.- Hank Blackman & The Killers On Brent
I have a nice Ex copy. Clean label with just a few pin prick size marks. Vinyl nice and glossy with just a few small, light paper scuffs. , I'd be happy to send down for you to check out if you wish. If so, please send me a pm. Alan- Northern Section On Ebay Uk
I think it has become more common over the last few years for some sellers to list huge amounts of stock as buy-it nows. Steve Jefferies has around 4,000. Same with US eBay - of the 120,000 45s listed there as R&B/Soul almost a third are Craig Moerer BINs. As suggested above, best filter out the BINs if looking for bargains. I used to get Beatin' Rhythm, have kept them all, in loft. I think ICTA with proper label was in one of them, never seen mention of it since. Was that one of the copies now mentioned? I think its exciting/amazing that something like this can still turn up. Would be interesting to know if the latest copy came from a soul collection, or a more exotic origin.- Quality White Card Sleeves?
Is it Covers 33 that goes to the VIP record fairs. Use bright yellow carrier bags?- Innuendo's In Soul
Hmm, I see what you mean. I think "f**kin" would have been a better lyric though, and it's disappointing after thinking that's what it was for all these years.- Innuendo's In Soul
It sounds to me, as Shinehead says, that she sings "don't you have enough f**kin heart..." I'd be interested to hear what you think she says. I've never been able to interpret it any other way,- Innuendo's In Soul
On the subject of shocking moments in records, what about Donna King. Did anyone ever come up with a non-swearing explanation for what she says at 0.56? Hard to believe it was issued with what it sounds like.- Paul Anka... Cant Help Loving You
I see Connie Stevens is also named in the advert. Was that for Tick Tock? Was it ever popular at that time? Alan- Tiffany's Glasgow - Uk 7" Record Sleeve
No, it never held any northern soul events. Main hall had live bands doing covers (like Strictly Come Dancing!), with a "disco" in small upstairs room. Very cheesy.- Great Philly 1969 Radio Show
The hair treatment advert Mystery Of Black at 34.00 is fantastic. Do you know if this was ever released (even as an advertising promo) or if any issued track (vinyl or CD) used the same backing track?- Where Are All The Records Going?
We've got the referendum to look forward (?) to in 2014 but surely premature to refer to Scotland as a separate country in this context.- Great Philly 1969 Radio Show
Surely no harm in posting the Soundcloud link where you can still hear it? And I'm going to buy the CD.- Manship's Price Guide - 6Th Edition

Thanks everyone for your comments. Glad I didn't buy the pup!- I Can Not Believe It
Just two bidders slugging it out have lifted it from £35 to £151.- Rubin - You've Been Away
Could someone tell me how you distinguish an original promo copy? I watched this eBay sale near its conclusion today, and wondered whether someone got a bargain original, or overpaid for a reissue. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251162605052?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 Thanks in advance. Alan- Ebay Watchers
Could the inability to see the Watchers field be caused by having an old version of Java on your computer? At one time I couldn't see the players on Craig Moerer's listings, and that turned out to be the reason.- Garnet Mimms / As Long As I Have You
Live version is good in its way - as a mod type record, club sound like the old Geno Washington albums. Backing by The Senate, a Glasgow band.- Jacki Lee Oh My Darlin'
I think Jayboy released it in '72 just as another soul release, possibly on back of good sales of Shotgun & Duck/ Temptation Walk and Would You Believe, rather than because of high demand for it at the time. I remember Dave Godin raving about it in B&S on it's release, but I don't think it fared well in the B&S or dealer charts.- Richard Searling's Northern Soul All-Nighter - Listen Again
