Did ever his Ric Tic stuff get released in Canada on that Quality/Reo label, for some reason meethinks yes ! I have Real Humdinger on Canadian Reo and so far it is the only one I have found. It seems the earlier 45's came out on Reo and the Ric Tic started doing there own on the lovely deep cherry red label?

It would have to be Dean parrish - Im On My Way as I am leaving in 20 minutes, going for a dig in Cosmos basement for a couple of hours 'til the missus finishes work and then a wander around the Toronto Downtown Jazz Festival to see who is on.

Portable Record Players
My lad bought me the Numark PT-01 USB for my 50th - bless him. I have had no problems with it for the first 4 months although it does seem a bit fragile in places. Take it with me to all the shows but remarkably I still bring home shit records.

There's A Ghost In My House
Picked up one of these on the Blue Canadian label yesterday and when I got home and listened to it I started thinking - why R Dean Taylor? It is written by H-D-H and dates 1966- surely there would have been a wealth of other artists to offer it to? Is there any other versions by Motown artists?

Ever Had Someone Refuse To Sell You 45's?
I was at a Record Show in Toronto yesterday. This is a good show as it is all Reggae/Soul/DJ stuff and lots of young collectors/sellers looking for breaks etc. I always pick up nice Soul stuff and usually at $2 a pop. I recognised one of the dealers as someone I had bumped into at a local flea market a year or so ago and he had given me his number and said to call him. He lives at least a 3 hour drive away and shortly after I lost my job and ended up being out of work for 15 months. Anyhoo, back to the show. He had a 500 flight case behind his stall and after the mad rush to see his albums had died down I went and asked if I could look through. He said "NO" I stood back a bit and said "Why?" His answer - "I gave you my number and you never called me so I am not going to let you look at my 45's" I explained the out of work thing which was confirmed by the seller next to him as he had offered me a load of 45's during this time as well. "I dont care" said Numbnuts "He is not looking"
