  2. link leads to "page not found". Can you share the details?
  3. Just wondering, what are the COVID-actions for these record fairs?
  4. I fully agree with that. What a great book.
  5. Just a general thought on recent prices: Spoke to two guys this week. One is selling higher priced vintage clothing, the other german Beat and Garage 45 rarities. Both said they had incredible sales over the last few months. And both confirmed some customers telling them they had "income surplus" they couldn't spend otherwise due to Corona lock-downs, travel bans etc. This may be a reason for some of the prices JM has been achieving over the last months?
  6. Based on who else has releases on that label I'd say it's west coast. Probably San Francisco.
  7. To me the best years were the early internet years. Literally yield years. Lots of US dealers creating their own sites and posting sales list, countless bargains found. Also, when Ebay US started. Again, countless quality records found at very good prices. Pre-internet I was relying on UK and US sales list posted by mail. They took ages to arrive here in Germany. Most interesting 45s were gone by the time I got the lists.
  8. Speaking of shill bidding, does anyone know if buyers shill bidding still happening on Ebay US? If you don't know what I'm talking about, it's a buyer using a 2nd (fake) account to raise bids way above any reasonable price to block other bidders. E.g.: Seller posts an indemand 45, value say $200 on Ebay, auction starts at $1.00 Buyer A bids $450 straight away. Buyer A is first bidder, so auction is still at $1.00 Buyer A then uses another account, Buyer B, usually fake account, to bid on the auction, in smaller increases to disguise, and raises the price up to say $400. $400 is twice the going rate so nobody else bothers to bid. Right before end of auction fake account retracts bid, price falls back down t $1.00. Buyer A wins @ $1.00 I know this happened years ago when I was still active on Ebay US. But is it still happening nowadays? Some of these shill bidders even waited for real accounts to bid up to a reasonable amount, say $40 in my example before they went it.
  9. check Discogs. Everything you want to know is there.
  10. Get the Magma bag. Sturdy, up to 150 45. You can file them either up to 150 45's in a row or in two rows up to 75 45's each row. If i was still dj'ing this would be my #1 carrier bag.
  11. Wow, that's a name I sure remember. Salamone that is, not Chris! (even though I know Chris personally) Got stung in the early 2k's. Sometime between 2002 and 2005. 250 Euros by bank transfer. Tried to cancel the transfer about 30 minutes later when I received an email from a belgian collector telling me all the details about Mr Salamone. No luck. Money gone. Spoke to my bank, they told me it's a transfer, money gone. Went to the police, they said small amount we don't bother. Lesson learned: Unless seller is trustworthy, Paypal only.
  12. Great news. But I still haven't figured out who's the person that wasn't welcomed to the party?
  13. Believe me. Most of that kind of stuff remains in the UK
  14. Classic Northern 45s seem to fetch loads at Manship's auctions. Target audience well stuffed. I'm surprised about prices of Gallahads and Charlie McCoy. Thought half of the price is about going rate.
  15. Is this a Brexit thing or because of the transaction being in foreign currency (i.e. US$). Just checked my german PP account, refund of EUR payment would include refund of fees.
  16. Ah, now I got it!
  17. It states what it is a repro. What's your point?
  18. Arrived here in Munich today. Many thanks!

  20. Ebay says seller is from Tbilisi, Georgia.Jo
  21. I think both sides are ok. Not allnighter material. But quite nice. Vocals remind me of Arthur Willis.
  22. The Purple Hearts version was comp'd a couple of times in the 80s. I guess that's where the What..For heard it. On the other hand, where the Purple Hearts got it from? No idea.
  23. Jimmy Fraser and Youth Opportunity Program are the very same versions. There's also a Garage/Freakbeat-ish version by the australian band Purple Hearts which was released a few months later. I wonder how they got hold of the song? I remember the vocal version being MASSIVE in the UK and at least Germany if not other continental countries in the mid 90s. Still love it.
  24. Tomo, many thanks! Much appreciated. Merry Christmas to you and your family too!
  25. Just happened to come across this album I bought many years ago and completely forgot about it. Especially where it originaly came from. Going by the asian letters I assume it's from Japan China. Can somebody help?
