    I've always thought Joe Hicks sounded pretty twisted [ but brilliant ] That rock style guitar didn't really fit with the Northern Soul concept back in the day , yet has remained a classic .Best,Eddie

I've had a couple of great conversations with Barry Tasker in recent years at The Wheel , concerning The Pendulum ,West 4th Steet by Valerie and Bobby Capers [ Atlantic ] was the " ender " at this venue .Richard S . did a great tribute show on Jazz FM with Dave White , Richard reckoned that " I got the fever " was the record which really defined The Pendulum for him .Best,Eddie

Has Margo Thunder " Soul of a woman " and Paul Humphrey " Cochise " been mentioned [ sorry if I've missed them ] .I def. heard them on my first visit to the Mecca in September [ 28th ] 1974 along with The Present " Many's the slip " [ Phillips ] which we requested as we hadn't heard it before [ touted as the vocal to Bok to Bach at the time ] Remember Ian saying "I'll play it but it's not very good ".
