  3. Hard one and only one place to begin 1) Pete Lawson, always the same from the day I met him at Wigan 2) The Mighty Bub 3) Dennis McDonald (den Mac) 4) John Farrell 5) Jon Buck 6) Ady Croasdell 7) Guy Hennigan 8) Dave Kettle 9) Yogi Haughton 10) The Marriott Brothers Chris, Rob and Ivor. Could add another 90 but spent some great times in many parts of the country with most of the above over the years !

  6. well done Paul / Malc & gang !
  7. Strangely I found this place in Wigan too, would be a brilliant all- nighter venue !
  8. Visited Wigan the other week when I was at SSW4, parked up in the town centre and walked up to Wall Gate Station to get my bearings, then headed up the street to Station Road ..past the Raven Pub...and into the shopping centre. To be honest they made a good job of the cafe, First time I'd been back in 30 years. Been there done that now and glad I went. Rob

If we are splitting hairs, I didn't actually PLAY the record that night, Dave Manlove was doing the disco on the night (Brother of Graham & Keith) and I gave it him to play whilst I danced ! LOL Rob

I had the first copy ! Got it off the bloke who did them in Detroit, this wasn't Kingy, was with Tats and he played it to us, I identified it as Brenda Holloway. It was first played at Ian & Mellisa Bullochs Wedding reception at the Winding Wheel in Chesterfield July 4th 1992 ! We had literately got off the plane from the States ! I then hammered it at The Hollingwood 3 months before copies arrived for sale in the UK ! Rob
  12. RIP Steve and sincere condolences to his family. Rob
  13. Just ordered it Ian ! After waiting over 2 years for its release, I'm in hospital on the F**king release date for 6 days ! Rob
  14. "‹Keep up the "Tape Digging" Ady The RCA stuff was mind blowing in all its forms Its just amazing the depth of material that was left in the can and it needs to be heard and issued on an "Original" 45 Rob
  15. Yes RIP Andy, standing in for me at the Hollingwood that night. I still remember the phone calls and answering machine messages waiting for me when I got up off nights on the Saturday morning. Also remember going to the crash scene with John & Mick & Maxine on the Sunday Morning and finding Andy's glasses and small items. Its still a mystery how Andy ended up on that stretch of road, I pass the spot a few times a year, now fitted with chevron signs for the bend, I've seen the plaque you put up as well. Always think of him when there. Totally tragic loss of a wonderful, larger than life guy RIP ANDY.
  16. Played it on Sunday night at Brid to a packed floor !
  17. I was there pete, slightly shocked it was played, but the clapping, incredible, Sounds like Keith DJing ? Brilliant thanks for sharing
  18. May be Pete, remember I spent 5 years trawling the States BEFORE the guide........HAPPY DAYS...but the scourge then was "THE YELLOW BOOK" , Music Master price guide, a £10 UK record could appear in there at $100 ! ??? Swings and round a bouts I bet you've had something that was a high value in the book that you though was cheap ? Records are all about supply and demand, if I buy something its because I want it ! Everyone likes a bargain, I went to a dealer in Alabama who had everything with a price on from Johns guide..he said he'd sell at 1/3 that price ! Some still were not worth bothering with ! lol Rob
  19. Guides are just that, as John says in his intro, he also states that it is the price for A MINT UNPLAYED COPY, not many of those around are there ! Great for info and well worth the £30 or so for the detail. good job Tim and John wrote it all down Rob
  20. There are very few DJs who could manage a 8 hour Night Shift these days !
  21. Cheers Rod, will try but sometimes the seller removes them once sold, thanks for your help Rob
