  1. I have bought a few thing in the last month or so and tried to leave feedback for the sellers pete smith and KJW who both provided great service, but I couldn't work out how to do it. Maybe a straight Leave feedback button, sorry if Ive missed it Mike Rob
  2. Thinking of Sue and Jon now, sorry I can't be there to say goodbye to Sue xx Had some great times with you both. Rob xx

  6. "‹I think that the subject of Darrell banks has been well covered in record Collector over the years and anyone owning a copy would maybe have cashed in long ago This is a fantastic find, well done Nick. Not one person on here thought it existed in an issue format, nice to think someone salted it away all those years ago , sneaked out in his "Snap Bag" along with a clutch of Stones and Billy Fury 45s. Holy Grail is used so often on records these days, this presses so many of the "Right" buttons its unbelievable and it has a very broad appeal, £10K ? More I'd say if 2 or 3 of the heavy weight collectors got involved, plus the London label guys with money..the sky is the limit. If you had limitless funds and one record missing....................how high do you go...once in a lifetime 1 (ps did you look in the shed Nick in the spares drawer ?) Once again I take my hat off to you Rob
  7. thing is Ted they don't realise how much money the Northern lot bring into the town at the weekend, very short sighted IMO !
  8. As a Promoter this is a Nightmare for Ady and indeed all those attending the event. Not been over as much as I'd have liked in the last 4 years, but always loved the feel of this event and obviously 2nd to none as far as sourcing live acts. There's going to be a lot of all night parties going on in those caravans ! Its strange that local pubs can get 4am-5am drinks licenses, yet a self contained event has this problem ! A serious cock up by the owners of the Centre. Best wishes to Ady and all who are travelling, I know you'll all have a party. Rob
  9. Your wealth is in your health, Don Davis was a multi-millionaire banker worth in excess of $200,000,000 His production credits and musical know how are the stuff of legend ! However in recent years his failing health left him in a Care Home. I could say a lot more, but RIP Don Davis......
  10. Absolutely terrible news, Dave Moore was still on his case to come..we tried many times...SAD SAD DAY RIP Deon
  11. "‹Did anyone else read the testimonials ? California, Denmark , Wakefield Kev from Kirkby?
  12. Four Tops " Ask the lonely", a superb song, often copied never bettered. I can listen to this song a hundred times in a row and still find something new in it such is the power of the emotion when Levi sings ! Rob

  14. "‹I was in the record bar snapping up all the despondent peoples soul records cheaply !! lol 9 times out of ten and Lou Christie were regular Minshull spins then !

  16. The rare stuff is only really rare because it didn't sell / make the Charts because it was up against more Commercial records which got Airplay and became Hits. No Artist /Record Company made records in 5s & 10s to become rare in 10/20/30 years time.! They made them to MAKE MONEY & GET FAME ! Luckily for us, some survived and found their way to the DJs in the UK. As stated before many many times on SS a minimum run would be around 500 copies ! Rob
  17. Melvin Davis penned this song in 15 mins as a favour for Mike Theodore I keep nagging him to include it in his sets with the words altered to Thats the way SHE is ! He's still thinking about it ! He said the horn intro just popped into his head on the Morning of the day mike asked him if he had anything to fit the (14 year old) young girl ! papa papa pap pow pap pap ! Rob

"‹After having been in a similar situation i can tell you how hard it is to trust people who should know better to do the decent thing. Record thieves are the lowest of the low and buying "Cheap" expensive records when you know they are stolen is aiding the thief / thieves. keep your eyes and ears open for Mel, I hope he gets them back. Rob
