TWO THINGS THAT ARE KILLING THE SOUL SCENE
The Rare Soul Scene on its last legs ? How many years will it keep going, I wonder. Years of the same records being played over and over again, not enough decent venues playing different, forgotten, underplayed gems, too many DJ's with large egos and tunnel vision, and hundreds of narrow minded, blinkered oldies and R&B boys haven't helped, not to mention there being around 200 Soul Nites on every weekend, most playing the old tired and tested !!

Hands up who missed this?
Think if I'd won a 4 figure 45 for peanuts,I'd wait until it was in my hands before I advertised the fact to half the world ! (Seller could easily have seen your SS blogs, or a vindictive fellow collector may have tipped him off, and offered slightly more) !! Good luck.

Lack Of Knowledge, Or Just Deep Pockets ?
I've got a Millie Jackson for sale for £195 then, if anyone is interested !!!

Lack Of Knowledge, Or Just Deep Pockets ?
A lot of the Johnny-come-latelys to the scene seem to either have no grasp of the desire to collect original issue 45's compared to reissues, or simply do not care. I remember a few years ago on Ebay 2 copies of Ann Sexton on the orange/black 77 label went for more than the yellow one, on the same night ! Recently i've struggled to get any offers on nice, clean orig 45's like Al Kent, Greg Perry, Melvin Elling, but see endless later and recent reissues sell easily !?!

Jimmy Norman, Family Tree, Sorted
Hello, got a white demo of this, plays excellent, tiniest edge chip one side only, hardly noticeable (dosen't even go into 1st run-in groove) , some label discolouration on 'Beautiful when you're falling' side. Pretty decent copy.

Who Played What At Wigan ?
BY MY RECKONING, SEVEN OF THOSE EIGHT 45'S ARE BY ................... WHITE ARTISTS !! ( YET MORE PROOF THAT THE NORTHERN SOUL VENUE OF VENUES WAS ALWAYS MORE ABOUT A NORTHERN DANCING SCENE, RATHER THAN A RARE SOUL SCENE). MUST SAY I ALWAYS ENJOYED MY TRIPS TO THE CASINO, BUT THE TRUE RARER SOUL US 45 EXPERIENCE DIDN'T MATERIALIZE OR WAS EVEN DREAMED OF TO ANY EXTENT VIA GREATER SOUL APPRECIATION, DISCOVERY. OR OPEN-MINDED ACCEPTANCE OF OBSCURE AND RARER BLACK RECORDINGS DIDN'T REALLY GET GOING UNTIL STAFFORD !! (COMMENTS AND COUNTER ARGUMENTS PLEASE) !!!!!!!!!

Who Played What At Wigan ?
- Comedy Sale Of The Day
While the misguided Johnny come lately tossers are paying stupid money for obvious boots and reissues, genuine switched on collectors should cash in and have their day in the Sun !! (Always amazes me that when a useless boot sells for stupid money on Ebay, there are always loads of underpriced good 60's / 70's selling for relatively little on the same day !)- Chi Chi
Another good version by Regina on Columbia, not quite as dramatically compelling, but pretty decent tune.- The Wonder Of Woolies
I bought one from M. Mowbray Sunday boot last week for 50p amongst others- Imagine If It Hadn't Made The Charts
It was played at the Mecca !!- Empty Dancefloor - Dj Reactions
With a comment like that, you are a misguided unsoulful dick-face oldies fan ?!! - Comedy Sale Of The Day
