Just seen Harry Starr - Step Into My World/Another Time Another Place in the sales section, and immediately thought of J.J. Jackson - It Seems Like I've Been Here Before, how close are these songs really... Now I'm spit balling here, but Harry Starr a possible pseudonym min for JJ Jackson? Just a thought.. Mal

I'll have a stab at Lou Pride, but given I was born in 69, I wouldn't really know.. how about Pat Lewis - No One to Love, The Tempos - I'll Never Forget, The Terrifics - I'll Get Him Back, Jimmy Raye - Philly Dog Around The World, and when did you ever see George Pepp - The Feeling is Real? Malcolm

Berwick street is a Bun Fight, when I got to Soul Jazz records it was packed, I went up to the counter asked for the Sandra Wright LP, was told to fill in a form, which I did, then the lady says whats the number>? I had No Idea, so she says "you need to fill that out before I can serve you", so I said its ok, I'll go up to Soul Brother records in Putney to get it, its their release anyhow... I agree about the queuing, there was a couple shops that literally had cues round the block, madness... Mal

Have to admit I winced a bit at some of the prices I was charged, but as a day with a bit of added excitement I was happy to pay those prices... I really enjoyed the day, it was nice to stand round a full counter, being thrown copies of tracks played, just as it used to be in shops in the eighties, reminded me of buying new House releases on a Sat morning at places like Don Cristie's in Birmingham... a quality 'Boys' experience.. lol M

I love the seventies bootlegs, they are great to collect, as for the rare ones, there are a few, I have to say I'd have a multi coloured sam fletcher over a real one any day.,,, there is another from that batch, been discussed loads before.,, Chalkey is up on the info on those... Mal

Fabulous thread, really interesting to see the older chaps standing their ground, and as some have said the emotions involved...still now... for all of us born after 69 he's just a name really, but I'd love to hear from him on here, I think some of you might even get stage fright! The mans very welcome in my book, what a life he's led and what a legacy he's left outside his own country.... Malcolm

Don't think I have this one Mark, what's the cat number? Lover with a reputation £15 ex memories of Joe Dutton who was a massive Bobby bland fan, he had all the EP's, with their sleeves, and juke box strips.... God rest his soul..,, M

Precisions - If This Is Love - Booted On Drew Label?
Mal C replied to Damian's topic in Look At Your Box
Clearly a reissue, originals are all styrene as in sure the chap above mentioned... The ep, well it's exciting until you realise the released tracks are the better tracks, that promo that got pulled, isn't very good really against the other released 45,s..: Just my opinion of course.. Mal.c -
Is this the new soul bros release, or the 9ts one?

Did he call you 'Baby Boy'...

Like a couple above, I'm far too young to know anything about SS, other than what I've been told over the years...but my golly he's left a legacy... Great thread.,, Mal.c
