Now that is a whole other ponder? First off…what is soul? Is northern soul just about “soul” and for me i dont think the northern soul would have survived out of the 70’s without these so called “not soul” or “it’s a pop song” wouldn’t most most peoples top 20 be made up of the likes of Dana valery….jimmy Fraser…liz Verdi? anyway back to subject,whats your thoughts on why with major labels there seems to be loads of demos and next to nothing issues in a lot of cases?

The USA Columbia red issues where northern soul is concerned seem to be infinitely rarer than the various demos….why? these 3 off the top of my head….any more? dana valery liz verdi Turley Richards

Currently on ebay ive never heard it before,but straight off the bat this has got to be fake? The disc itself doesn’t look right,and the song is a mock up! Sounds like they have sped up Tony’s voice then added it to the backing track? The phrasing start to finish is exact? has this been a discussed,sussed out in the past?

Personally I don’t hear anything “northern soul” with the red light song,however his “love really hurts without you” is well worthy of northern soul status,more so if it was an unknown?

Just to add, that was a cheap instrumental by p Bradley,only on the issue,and you don’t see it often,and for me in the top 5 instrumentals!

The Joe Matthew’s made a big jump in a couple of minutes,was on £1800 right up to a couple of minutes before lucky to get that amount for Rita & tiaras too,been on a few set sales over 12 months for a bit less and not moved very quickly?

Yeah I agree on all thoughts rob,the John Bowie has enjoyed a £1k plus run for a while,I can see this one like say the chandlers and other similar oldies coming down to a more realistic amount? Although as Im thinking this,i do try and get these amounts when I sell stuff😂

The sapphires 45 is the standout desperation act for me,not only a very poor version,but the intro doesn’t fit the song at all! joking aside a did actually turn my nose up at the record for £2 in the 90’s as I wouldn’t pay any money for it christ I can be harsh😳Im sure a lot of people love the tune. Also…is it ok to slag off records but sell records on here too🤔
