according to figures recently the BBC Archives still has a massive collection of vinyl and CDs. There is little doubt it will have been pilfered from time to time or records getting lost whilst out with the various shows using them.

Didn't every BBC station have a record library? Manchester, Sheffield etc etc. Wasn't there a haul in Manchester of old BBC stock?

Phil Swern I think owns the company that provides the BBC's digital services. I listened to an interview once when BBC was beginning to think about digitising and he said he already had them all digitised. Probably a carver. There is probably a carver out there of just about every record, most of the sellers on ebay who offer boots are carvers and some do them to order. I haven't seen a boot of Ward Burton, a boot as in a 300 count press etc.

I haven't read the links yet so not sure where the connection to Bill Smith comes from? Obviously Sweet Temptation/If'N are his records but the rest all appear to have no connection. Panther owned by Willie Hammond. The only other Greenville connection I can think of with major Bill is Martha Starr who came from the town.

Ward Burton one is 66/7 or 67/8. The other 69.

According to R&B Indies Ward Burton Panther out of Greenville, SC whilst the Reggie Sadler Panther is Hickory, NC. They may well be linked somehow though.
