  1. I'm useless with paint unless it comes out of a spray gun....
  2. must be a demand for them. I'll stick with what I've got as far as R&B Indies goes. Will finish the soul one off.
  3. Like any guide I take nothing for granted and double check any info if unsure. Also like any guide, especially something on this scale there will be omissions and errors, I don't think I've seen a reference book yet that doesn't have errors and mising info? As for plagiarising thats between the parties concerned but I know many sites who have plagiarised other sites for their info, well known and respected sites. It goes on all over the place. They are a welcome addirtion to my shelves and like I said you won't get the R&B Indies as it is sold out unles it has had a reprint to which I am unaware of.

Post edited to remove request for mp3's. Once again mp3's and requests for mp3's not allowed due to file sharing issues which you should be fully aware of, especially long standing members.

Again, please take any personal grievances to either PM's or sort in the real world face to face/via phone. Both JT and Mickey have had your say on here so no more here please.
  6. All these documentaries are great viewing and this one no exception. Even better over Apple TV and on 42 inch plasma.
  7. I have the four volume R&B Indies and the first Soul Discography and personally think they are a great resource. They are a massive undertaking and as you would expect there are some omissions and errors. Nothing else like them in print out there. Recommend them. The R&B Indies has sold out though so you'd have to get them from someone second hand, I had the last copy of volume 4 :-)
  8. Been asked to post this for a friend. For sale is an acrylic painted canvas of Robert Tanner Sweet memories on a technics deck. The canvas measures 18 by 24 inch. This is strictly limited edition of 10 only. Price is £120 plus postage and packing. P&P Next day £16.00 P&P 48 hour £12.80 Telephone Jayne 07833 104147 Landline 01325 307132 Alan 07944 851402 Photo attached, doesn't really do the painting justice but you get the idea.
  9. There is a sax break John but it must last all of two or three seconds, the intro sounds a bit quicker too on what I've just listened too.
  10. I can't remember fully, I'd have to have a listen again.
  11. The sax break missing from the Rouser take.... old topic at
  12. I suppose there is always going to be conflicts but from Stephen C Kelly's viewpoint it does appear Earl Young thought a bit too much of himself and not as much of the group. Good read though (not a long one mind) and would like to read it from one of the others viewpoint, especially the Trammps as Stephen C Kelly not involved with them although it does appear he kept tabs on them.
  13. Can we please use the event guide and not All About The Soul for advertising events and if a one off kind of event then maybe an article with some detail and not just a link.
  14. Just finished reading a biography of Stephen C Kelly, one of the Volcanos. Behind The Curtains: with "The VOLCANOS" "Storm Warning" And The Grammy Award Winning "TRAMMPS" "Disco Inferno" https://www.amazon.co.uk/Behind-The-Curtains-VOLCANOS-Warning/dp/177067554X/ref=sr_1_24?ie=UTF8&qid=1331456531&sr=8-24 There is a Kindle version as well which is less than a fiver.... https://www.amazon.co.uk/Behind-The-Curtains-ebook/dp/B006RI9Q2C/ref=sr_1_4?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1331456601&sr=1-4
  15. They did according to the liner notes in the Earnest Kelly grapevine cd. It was to get the DJ's to program the record more. His other Terry release was released in the 80's.
  16. It's in his guide number 5, says the Itzy press is a UK commissioned bootleg inspired by the 60's Pittsburgh press. Always though it was a boot.
  17. Who in their right mind would buy it
  18. It's the better side for me Pete.
  19. My yellow of Walk Away is hiss free, would never have DJ'ed with a record that hissed all way through.

Can I ask any personal grievences be taken off the topic and to PM's or deal with them in the real world.
  21. The Barrino Brothers reminds me of the Chambers Brothers - I Can't Stand It?
  22. Never played it speeded up but will do tonight when I get home :-)
  23. As Martin said, please use the event forum or submit an article. Topic closed. Thanks.
