  1. Looks better with the red vinyl. And as others said O'Jays doesn't come close to the Commands.
  2. Post unapproved.

Both Private Stock and RCA releases from the same year I think, 1975.

What is off topic? It might not be a price in every reply but it is mostly relevant. Terry's third post "rumoured to be the Volumes" opened the discussion up and what followed was pretty much relevant and plenty of knowledge in there that is of use to many.
  5. Taxman been on to ebayers some time and eBay introducing shops will make it easier for the taxman to trace those who do more than just sell a few bits on the side.
  6. How can you compare The Invitations and Grey Imprint? Both are all-nighter records but of different eras, one would be out of place on today's all-nighter scene just as much as the other would have been out of place on the nighter scene back then. Neither can I imagine any youth club today playing Ski-ing In The Snow? Oh and the Wigans Ovation was just an opportunity for some to exploit the scene in the pursuit of cash.
  7. Pretty sure Nige it was Shifty I first heard play this but don't think Butch was long in getting one. As said most of the top Dj's have it now. Look forward to Dave T's release, only way I can afford this :-) Whatever some think of the record it is a great looking label :-)
  8. It would be nice just for once if we could have a topic where the opinions and posts were about the subject and not about other members, too much of it just lately and too much off topic. Members, myself included are tired of opening topics to read something that has no relevance to the topic or is another dig at another member, time it was cut out altogether.
  9. Mick we encourage people to keep sticking their hands up and asking questions, that is what we are here for, to learn about the music so keep asking away.
  10. Pretty sure it was covered as Lou Pride Nige at least by Butch who must have been playing it around the same time as Shifty or just after.
  11. There has been at least two sold via dealers in recent times, both in decent nick.
  12. just checked, both have piano intro but one has strings added, that is the rarest and the only difference I believe.
  13. doesn't one have the piano intro????
  14. I'll dig out what takes I have. I never really compared them to be honest when compiling the podcast. Not sure about the acetate, years since I ve seen it.
  15. Which ever side was played Benji they are both crap. Untitled Four was played out as Leo Wright, speeded up a bit was it not? I have a faster one on a tape and slowed down sounds like this. It was Searling late Wigan I believe....Gary Rushbrooke must have got it from RS along with some other stuff he played early Stafford.
  16. Hill and Range is he publishers isn't it?
  17. show can be downloaded at https://www38.zippyshare.com/v/48072010/file.html%3Cbr%20/%3E hope Zane who uploads this doesn't mind, I'm sure as many as possible would like to listen to these two, I could all day long.
  18. I'd say £150 to £200 if done privately or on a list. Auction prices are far from realistic value, many more deals done via lists and privately that Popsike doesn't see.

Didn't the muppet pay three times it's value. Gotta agree with you Pete regarding the price and can't say I've heard it anymore than you did to be honest so can't see that driving demand or the price. Like Phil says get the Lp, cheaper and a few more tracks to listen too.
  21. Nice one, only just seen this, just downloading now and will listen tomorrow on my travels (if Ic an get throughout the snow). Great start with the brilliant David Ruffin.
  22. Don't think he is the source, good idea who is behind them though. Few people used from why I can see to get these boots out there.
  23. Heavy snow here so didn't make Derby, must be 4 or 5 inches and still snowing hard. Don't like letting anyone down but would be mad to go out in this.
  24. few inches of snow in Goole right now and forecast to get more
  25. from the Met Office site.... Headline: Rain, sleet and snow continuing eastwards. Widespread ice following countrywide. This Evening and Tonight: Rain, sleet and snow continuing eastwards, lingering over southeastern England by dawn. Significant accumulations of snow are likely, particularly in eastern and central Britain. Clearer conditions will follow from the northwest, giving widespread ice and some fog patches. Sunday: Starting icy and locally foggy. Snow easing and clearing southeastern Britain during the morning, with eastern UK then dry. Rain soon spreading into western parts however, coupled with hill snow. Updated: 1522 on Sat 4 Feb 2012
