  1. well I've a copy here if someone wants to buy one
  2. I bought the Dealers for £30 I think, knew it was a sleeper and had the right ingredients. The dealer I bought it off put his next one up at £75!!
  3. I agree with you Pete, sheep mentality. Ringleaders must be about in greater quantity than the dealers yet commands £250 every time just because it fills the floor. Who's playing this to make the price go up? I've been spinning it for a couple of years or so but I wouldn't think I have that effect on prices, probably the opposite

I wouldn't pay £150 for this, worth half that. As good a record that it is Dj's should be looking for something that hasn't been so over played the last 25 years....no imagination some ;-)
  5. The vocals do sound close to Ruffin but if you listen side by side there you can hear the difference.

Kell Osborne drafted in '63 (if memory serves me correctly). What he did/saw I don't know. Think at the time he'd just signed with Capitol and being drafted put paid to his time with a major label. I'll try and get more details when I speak to him as I've a couple of other questions for him I need answering.
  7. or you could check out the Creations Oh Baby for about £20.
  8. Its not totally asleep one I've been playing when I'm out and about for past couple of years. Great record, everything you want in a northern record!!
  9. not rally Don, mainly the backing vocals I think. Main thing is the price Here's a minute and half of the Presentations in refosoul, if I get chance I'll record the full take later.... PRESENTATIONS - CALL ON ME - and the Four reputations. FOUR REPUTATIONS - CALL ON ME - MILLAGE -
  10. Thanks for the info. I actually prefer the Four Reputations on Millage (same group), one of my all time faves, but this is almost as good. Rate the record at more than £50 and it's not an easy one to find these days. It will have its day again.
  11. Got one here. Its vg+/ex, see the scan, plays great, few light marks, nothing serious. £40. Great record. If you slow it down a touch it sounds almost like the Millage release.
  12. Please pass on my sympathies and condolences to Taffy's family. R.I.P.

The Servicemen were from Phoenix, Arizona and they (four of 'em) all served at Luke Airforce base. I don't know if they served in any war.
  14. For anyone interested Arthur has a couple of video Channels and other videos on YouTube of his work.... https://www.youtube.c...ompetitionmusic some videos of Don Julian and the Meadowlarks.... https://www.youtube.com/user/NSP2Videos
  15. The video was released on the 1st. Got mine through today. No extras just 27 minutes of This England. Decent quality and sounded good loud through the home cinema Just over 7 quid on amazon.
  16. Cheers Carl, Tony & Des, cleared things up
  17. maybe how I wrote it...I should have put I thought it was a touch later than casino, I'm not doubting you.
  18. I thought it was one of Gary's but a bit later than Casino. Cheers for that Know Gary Dean was a Gary Spencer biggie, but not sure if it got spins earlier.
  19. No not them two... Gary Dean You Can Say and Gary Sole - Holdin' On. Who first played 'em and where?

The Uptones on Watts (The Taken For A Ride side anyway) is the Saints according to Soul Harmony Singles with members Carlton Beck (lead) formerly of the Senders, The Swallows on Guyden and The Guides, later of the Hollywood Saxons, The Professionals and Speed Limit, Richard Betts (Baritone) later of Speedlimit plus unknown members. Dunno if the rest of The Uptones output is the Saints. No mention of who is in the Saints in the book.
  21. wasn't this listing discussed on here some time ago? sure someone will find it if it was.
  22. there are some links HERE Benji but rapid share was unavailable to free users at the time of trying. Dunno if tyhe links lead to the original short film or not. Will try again later unless someone has membership to rapidshare, mine ran out over Christmas and I didn't renew.

  24. I wouldn't call them realistic though, there is just one on there since 2006 and ebay hardly realistic in its prices. One on there for $393 from 2009 which if it was in pounds would be something more like a realistic price. The one before that is from 2006!
  25. Is Swampp on here? I know he posts to KTF now and then.
