I too got some from Ikea...think they are called the "Billy" range or something like that believe it or not, ideal they are, extra shelves can be bought too so can be set just right for 45's. -
I've played the Passions out the last year or so (along with the Hesitations - No Brags Just Facts), great record, and cheap I did add it to refosoul some time ago.

should easily fetch that IMO considering the rarity and quality.
Some promoters do look what others are doing and do look at the bigger picture and do try their best to avoid clashes but it's virtually impossible to avoid a clash of some sort and many are not interested in the greater good of the scene. Many promotions are also dictated to by the venue owners and available dates at said venue.

Got in the wagon this morning at 4.30 and on Radio 5 live, The Up All Night Show the presenter was interviewing someone from Hull and someone else, missed their names. The bloke from Hull was talking about train spotting in the days of steam. Anyway one of the guests, dunno which one mentioned his love of rare 60's soul and the next thing Jack Montgomery is coming out of the speakers Daft question did anyone else listen and catch who the guests were? One was a mod way back or summat like.

nope there's a few copies in nthe hands of collectors/dj's. Mello Souls never been on e-bay.
I'm awaiting delivery Dave on my copy. Still reading Phylis Hyman's story so not in a rush for it.

I would have thought that anyone who gets about a bit knows what most events music policy are and what most djs play regardless of the billing.
then why complain about what others listens to? Like I said there's plenty on to cater for everyone. beside's whats soft southern funky discofied northern soul any examples
well if it ain't for you what some events play (or anyone else) go elsewhere and stop moaning, there are plenty of venues (too many IMHO) covering everything in the wide spectrum of northern soul. Again if a certain DJ you said you don't like is guesting go elsewhere, plenty of oldies venues in the Barnsley/South Yorkshire area that don't play soft southern funky discofied northern soul so personally I don't see what the problem is Its the same for everyone, go where you want, listen to what you want and leave the stuff you don't want to hear to those that do want to hear it
