  1. Got to thinking about when I was 20 or 21 around 1990/91 and started going to niters regularly - Droylesden, Bradford, etc. Loads of records new to me then that I associate with that time and those venues, but obviously most had been played earlier - done a quick list below off the top of me head and would be interested to know where did you personally first hear these tunes? Jimmey Soul Clark - I’ll be your winner Donna Coleman - Your love’s too strong Reggie Alexander - It’s better Kim Weston - A thrill a moment Volumes - Same old feeling Terry Callier - Look at me now Hytones - You don’t even know my name Tommy Ridgley - My love is getting stronger Robert John - Raindrops, love & sunshine Paul Sindab - I was a fool Esther Phillips - Just say goodbye Cashmeres - Showstopper George Freeman - Down and out Geater Davis - My love is so strong for you Buddy Ace - True love money can’t buy Otis Lee - Hard row to hoe L Allen - Can’t we talk it over Posse - Evil George Wydell - Funny feeling Margie Joseph - One more chance Ruby Andrew’s - Just loving you Cheers, Chris
  2. I had a tape of this at one point, might have come from Pete Smith? Worth asking him
  3. Bit wistful reading this, some great nights back in the 90's Top tunes from a real mix of DJ's, great sound system and dancefloor, cool and knowledgeable crowd, etc. Struck a nice balance between connoisseurs vibe and dancefloor friendly - definitely one of my favourite niters of times past. No idea how I got home in one piece Sat mornings driving back to Nottingham though, always a total shambles 😁
  4. Really interesting above, thanks for posting. Someone must have told them Boston wasn't too far from London 😁
  5. Maybe not the first time it was done but always liked the way you can hear all the tracks clearly, Wicked Lester ‘Gaye with an E’ edit

Boris Gardiner - More than words can say (Test Pressing) VG £225 SOLD Bought Mar 21 from Craig Moerer for $300 but also now got an issue so one needs to go As per photos it says 'Lloyd Robinson - I love you' on one side and blank on the other, however plays Boris Gardiner on the Lloyd Robinson side, and Boris 'Groovy kind of love' on the flip Vinyl a bit dull looking but plays loud and clear (louder than the issue) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZaHBnGlMgs

  10. Always looked forward to hearing Bob out and about during the 90's - Ritz, Wilton, etc - not the rarest of records necessarily but great taste and knows how to programme a set, unlike others I can think of who have some records but don't seem to have any idea how to string them together IMHO of course 😆
