  1. Even the name says "Dance".
  2. I can remember when bowling shoes were de rigueur. Just wear an old pair of flip flops to the bowling alley and come out with a pair of leather two tone bowling shoes.
  3. My current footwear of choice are Adidas Sambas, which suits my style of dancing as I prefer a bit of grip. Back in the 70's I used to wear Adidas Kicks, which were very similar, so I don't think there's anything new there. Can be quite sticky on the floor at the start of the night but once the floor gets scuffed up a bit they're ideal. Hate talc on the floor, and people who go around with a bottle of the stuff like some industrial crop sprayer are a pain in the arse. Keep it to your own patch if you're going to use it, don't cover the whole dance floor. Or better still, wear slippery shoes. Incidentally, saw somebody out the other week with a bottle of talc labelled up as "Northern Soul Talc". Wonder how much the mug paid for that.
  4. Clip as requested.... https://youtu.be/vpqQvrn3jRM
  5. Too many venues? Saturday 27th - 4 Weekenders, 3 All Nighters, 1 All Dayer and over 40 Soul Nights advertised in Events. There's got to be room for a few more. Did notice that a few events had been cancelled / postponed. Given this number of events happening on the same night, there's got to be at least 200 DJs spinning the vinyl throughout the country.
  6. I'm going to be tired of hearing it now because it's going round and round in my head since I read your post.
  7. Sad news. Sincerest condolences to family and friends. RIP.
  8. Noel and the Furballs would be more appropriate.
  9. Some good LPs mentioned already. A couple of my favourites on Inferno - "That Beatin' Rhythm" and "Detroit A Go Go".
  10. Also showing at The Brewery in Kendal on 24/10.
  11. I think that's the case with most films and their soundtracks. Normally they'd expect to sell more DVDs so they tend to be cheaper because of the volume produced.
  12. I think the BluRay single disc release contains the extras you mentioned. Not heard of a double disc release. The CD soundtrack has a bonus DVD with Elaine being interviewed by one of the actors.
  13. It's a toss up between "I'm Going All The Way" and "Optimistic" for me.
  14. The song is called "Try". https://youtu.be/J8PzQf64tAE
  15. Are you sure, looks like a fanzine to me, and all they're selling is mugs and T-shirts.
  16. You're a minute behind Mike.
  17. Reviews for the soundtrack are starting to appear.... https://drownedinsound.com/releases/18405/reviews/4148206?ticker
  18. Post code Bar hours (if different from event hours)

In short, I reckon I was at a weekender when I was told this......that should explain the vagueness! ! In hindsight, I should have simply said I believe it to be true...... Cheers, Mark R It was probably a hologram.
  20. Putting the song to one side (which incidentally I posted a while ago...), what does a compression hat do? When I tried to google it, I ended up with central heating fittings and parts of a drum kit.
  21. Dublin, Devon, Hartlepool, Weston-super-Mare and Newquay have now been added.
  22. Sounds a lot like Mel Torme from the description.
  23. Vincent Price playing the lead role of Dr Goldfoot in the film.
  24. It had a built in sprinkler system with all the sweat dripping off the walls and ceilings.
